Another good series I watched recently was The Man in the High Castle.
The gist is what the world would have been like had Hitler won the second World War. Its really good and brutal at the same time as the Germans and Japanese carve up the USA and Hitler runs the whole world other than the territories he let the Japanesse control.
Scary as well.

What worries me Fargo is most of those thugs weren't young. Most have young children. What charming parents we have! It's depressing that a relatively small faction can cause so much grief

The Hour, on Netflix now, but originally a BBC production. Good acting, interesting script, really enjoyed the first series, looking forward to the second.

I just finished “The Sinner” with Bill Pullman who appears as a retired big shot detective called back to action to help his home town police. I accidentally started with the last season, and Pullman’s character was odd enough in that season that it seemed like a David Lynch film. Unsettling but fun. He played it pretty straight in the first three seasons so it was an interesting change for the last.
It also features the actress who played the ex wife of Miles in Sideways. She plays her character in this show much like she did for her character in Sideways. I love that film and I have watched it numerous times. In a credit to her acting ability, I must say that just hearing her speak and watching her acting created irrational anger in me because of what she did to Miles in the other film. 😆
Her affect, her manner of speaking to other adults like she is the teacher in primary school and they are the kids, the false nurturing demeanor, infantilizing her love interest all of it. I have no idea what this actress is like in real life, and I am sure she is a normal pleasant person, but she brings out all the feelings of resentment that one has with a certain type of ex wife I’m sure. I don’t know if others have a reaction like this to other actor’s performances. I need to watch her in other films or shows to get another perspective, or go to therapy, or both. 😆 Well done Jessica Hecht.

I've been following the speeches made by the American would-be presidents and VPs. It seems to me that, despite their utterances indicating otherwise, these are not limited individuals but they clearly believe the majority of their target audience are gullible in the extreme.

Just finished the Big Bang Theory and now watching the Bloopers. Giving Young Sheldon a go too. I've never watched it, my father in law says it's superb. Is it? I never fancied it but took a look. Excellent. Binge-watched all 12 seasons. Each episode is 25 minutes, the characters interesting and they gel. Each episode is largely self contained. The Sheldon character has an IQ of 187 and suffers from Autism, the series goes a long way in explaining the impact sympatheticly. He considers his roommate Leonard as a bit dim, IQ 173. Interestingly the woman who plays Sheldon’s love interest is a real PhD. it goes some way to showing how thick really smart people can be with everyday life. Well worth a try. Well written, funny, well acted.
