Just started watching Mad Men.
Now I remember people going crazy for this back in the day, it has a good IMDB rating and I'm 7 episodes in and I'm thinking what's all the fuss about?
Can someone tell me if its worth sticking with cos so fat it's done nothing for me to keep on watching!

I went to the cinema with the kids to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and it was funny and very emotional. People were literally crying 3 or 4 times in the film. Arguable the best of the 3 films.
Rocket is the star of the series!

Was looking for this thread at the weekend but couldn't find it.
Recent films:
Rye Lane 7/10
Knock at the Cabin 4/10
Operation Fortune: Russe de guere 6.5/10
Triangle of Sadness 5/10 initial reaction. And then either a 4/10 or an 8/10 when I've reflected on it. Still undecided.

Took a walk down memory lane and watched a couple of old favourite films :
Life is Sweet. Mike Leighs film about Thatchers Britain. Love that film.
Blood Simple. I'm a Coen Brothers fan but this disappointed me on second viewing.

I don’t have anything to suggest that I’ve just seen, but I’m looking forward to seeing the new Christopher Nolan film about Robert Oppenheimer, who is played by Cillian Murphy. It’s going to be in IMAX theaters, and I’m sure it will be a memorable experience. The trailer looks good. I’m also looking forward to the new Scorsese movie Killers of the Flower Moon which will be released in early autumn.

We have Netflix, Disney + and HBO but it seems to provide me with little more than dozens of variation of talking-head type shows. A few are excellent but once seen.... I have found more fertile ground via YouTube but recently the ads have grown in number, duration and banality. I guess l've grown more cynical as my years pile up. Is it just me? I am aware that local TV and theatre are mostly out of reach due to my lack of sophistication in terms of slavic language. So, is BBC iplayer (via a VPN) worth the effort?

Can someone tell me if its worth sticking with cos so fat it's done nothing for me to keep on watching! The first three seasons are fantastic. There are some really good characters in the acting is really good and of course the setting is good as well. The entire show is pretty good but the first three seasons are the best in my opinion.

I've got all the players set up on my computer and telly. I seem to go to ITVX mainly, followed by BBC iplayer, at night it's usually youtube. I've got George & Mildred on at the mo (ITVX), Moby's gone down the drain.
It's about 4 and half quid a month to get rid of the ads on youtube but you can get rid of them after 6 seconds most of the time. This is for youtube on the telly, it might be different on a computer.
If it says it'll continue after the ads then I usually click the back button on the telly remote until it says skip ads (with the 5 or 6 seconds timer).
It's still a million times better than the 5 min breaks on terrestrial TV.
So yeah, iPlayers are worth the effort.

Someone said to me you need to get IPTV. I went round my mates and he had the recent Madrid game in 4k picture quality and he pays £80 a year for 17k channels!! Boxsets, films basically you couldn't ask for more
Maybe that's to be looked at?

I’ve paid to watch on Now Tv. Have had the opportunity to watch illegally and won’t do it. Funding crime is not my thing
