Will this stop the cheating,or will it be the cause of more cheating.

Will this stop the cheating,or will it be the cause of more cheating. Too Blue or not too Blue, that is the question. Whether it’s nobler in the minds to suffer the Reds or Yellows of outrageous fortune or take Blues against a game of troubles… sorry, couldn’t resist a bit of Shakespeare.

Will this stop the cheating,or will it be the cause of more cheating. I think it will improve the game as your teammates are not going to put up with you being in the sinbin every game. I've certainly seen the mouth from kids stop to the ref and the FA's stats back that up.

I've certainly seen the mouth from kids stop to the ref and the FA's stats back that up. Hope that is right and personally I can see mouthing off being reduced. Gobbing off in the officials ears is a part of the modern game that seems to be getting worse and not something I enjoy watching. We have one or two who just cannot control their mouths. Not the odd occasion, it’s an emotional game, but the persistent offenders deserve 10 minutes to reflect.

The players should be allowed to show the referees a card ...... The Joker Funny! Though will say, and maybe with some bias, refereeing is a thankless task. Many decisions will be both welcomed and derided in equal measure by fans, players, coaches depending not on the foul but whether it’s to your advantage or not. Bias a major factor and we all know that deep down. Incident happened to me many years ago. Tight hard fought game, near the end. I took out a player in the box. It was a penalty, I didn’t complain. But my team mates went into overdrive. Surrounded the ref giving him earache. The referee just said “I’ve had enough of this” and walk off leaving 22 players gobsmacked and unable to complete the game. Not funny at the time but makes me smile now. Referees are people, with emotions too.

The blue card is already in youth football and I had a player shown it and he had 8 mins in the sin bin. You can't sub them and your down to 10 for that period of time. It didn't affect us as such as we reorganised to cover for it. I've seen the media back lash and the only reason it will be a problem is Premier players are going to be blue carded all the time. I'm fed up watching them telling the ref to f off as all that does is give kids permission to do the same. Trouble is the game is back to front, as they bring these laws into youth football which is fine, but you need to stop the behaviour in the pro teams and the kids will follow suit. They just copy what they see on the TV. Start at the top and work it down, you'll soon see a change in attitudes. I see Merson was quite vocal in his opposition and I feel that outburst was due as he knows what's coming and you'll be down to 8v11 or something like that and as a spectacle it will be game over. If a keeper gets sin binned an on field player goes in goal, when the time is up the keeper rejoins as an outfield player and it is only after the next stoppage can they go back in goal. Just looking at stats for Andover New Street, Wessex League premier and Andover town in Wessex division 1 where I get my live football fix sometimes. Stats show sin bin cards. So in operation in the men’s games too. Blue cards have been in operation for at least the last 3 seasons but very few are issued. Never knew that.

Big boy bias will be the outcome of many blue cards.

Big boy bias will be the outcome of many blue cards. With some of the individuals playing in the professional game Tarot cards would be more appropriate.🔥🥸

Will be fun and games if keepers get a blue card for time-wasting and all subs have already been made 🤔🤔

Ron. Most important, will there be any points in the prediction league for a Blue Card?

I’m quite open minded about the issue of blue cards. I’d prefer a blue issued to a player rather than a second yellow which would take him out of the game entirely, and if the young players coming through get used to this new system, then by the time they reach the professional leagues, hopefully they’ll learn how to button it. So test it in youth football and PL2 and if it works bring it up through the pyramid.

BB it's already there and upto a certain level in the semi pro game. This is the last step to complete the pyramid.

I thought changes introduced this season were already aimed at improving behaviour. Hence the increase in cards being issued for existing laws that are being more rigorously enforced. Quite right too. One such change was to reduce the times players surround the referee which according to FA statistics are working. I thought team captains were already allowed to approach the referee and in fact this is quite healthy. But I hate with a passion all this players surrounding the referee stuff. Just dish out reds and yellows when this happens, it will soon stop. Same for all this dissent stuff. Be grown up about it being a game of passion but it’s also a game demanding discipline and respect. No referee = No football. An equation people need to understand. Referees have bad games but by my reckoning players have bad games too. Pots and kettles. I would add that all mangers/head coaches be forced to take an annual on-line test covering the laws of the game. Players too maybe. The outcome of that would be interesting.

Difficult a job that it is,can the standard of match officials in the lower leagues be afforded more power to have another say as to what is a blue card offence.Watching the match officials warming up gives one a good idea what the officiating is going to be,I always dread the small refs, and those with jutting chins.
