He was fine. Feeding off crumbs. He did his best but neither he nor Adu-Adjei made much contribution. (Nor did Sotiriou for that matter - I hardly noticed him.) The substitutions were all too late. The substitutions were the same as at the Northampton game, Ruel and the new fella. There was a completely different situation in this game. Neither had a chance because we had lost momentum completely. Burton broke the game up once Beckles had gifted them the equaliser. Richie would have been better off keeping the same line-up on because of the weakness of the bench. Sanders was a poor choice in that situation too, and it showed with four glaring errors. Edwards isn't really up to this league, though he does try hard. He's no movement or passing accuracy yet. It is difficult for someone coming into the team late in the season when the team is chasing the playoffs. But we had no other choices. He wasn't tired when he went off so there might have been a chance he'd have blundered the ball over the line during a scramble. People seem a bit depressed about the result, but a win at Oxford will turn the tables. The Beckles Masterclass will then be forgotten.

In the meantime us adults just need to smile and put up with it. He will grow out of it eventually. Hopefully. Let’s be patient. He can’t help it. 😂

I agree with Richie that we dominate teams and don't kill them off. We've been riding our luck in that department but it came back to haunt us today. We don’t dominate teams. We dominate the ball. Different. We enjoy the lions share of possession but far too much of that is backwards and sideways stuff that isn’t putting pressure on the opposition. That is not dominating an opposition who just watch us dick about going nowhere. First half 82% possession, 5 shots, 2 on target. That's dominating the ball. It’s certainly not dominating the opposition. In fact I’d suggest the opposite is true.

I do want to say Moncur was superb as was Prately who did so much work and winning the ball either on the floor or in the air. Credit to them two. Superb is perhaps too strong, don’t think that epithet could be applied to any of our team today, but they were definitely the better in our team. As for Happe, he has been a big loss and in an area we’ve allowed to be very, very thin. Disgracefully so. It’s costing us big time. Cooper has done OK, Beckles casual approach has returned with a vengeance and there is nothing RW can do about it. Hobson’s choice.

League 1 football at its worst, too many backward or sideways passes with the inevitable mistakes.Burton certainly has some tall players on the pitch by which we were easily hustled off the ball or the dodgy pass
