They certainly had some big players in their team, and with such teams we are so easily knocked off the ball.We are a good team to watch and very easy on the eye. However we lack toughness. Probably a consequence of having / choosing to field such a high proportion of youngsters- which longer term will hopefully stand us in good stead - but at present makes the team rather lightweight in comparison to many opponents.

I like Ruel, just that yesterday he was missing. On Tuesday you made a good point of the work he was doing off the ball and I didn’t say anything against that point as your were right despite many disagreeing with you. Yesterday he didn’t do that and as he was being out muscled he was ineffective. I said Richie may have got the selections wrong, those two centre halves were big lumps and your asking a 5ft 9” give or take player to go up against them both, you’re asking for trouble. I don’t have the hindsight of having them watched, but surely the reports would have said what those two were like, what they did well and where we could expose them. If Richie doesn’t fancy Lester then that’s fine, but as yesterday was being played out that he should have come on sooner than when he did if only to occupy the two lumps allowing Ruel to run off him and them. Too late now we will never know. The fact I was disappointed by Ruel yesterday shows maybe not articulated very well how much I do rate him as the team suffered with no focal point. Maybe I’m being harsh, maybe Richie should have thought more about his line up but Ruel is not a nine against two lumps like that. I’m just gutted really, we lost to Lincoln and shouldn’t have, we lost to burton and shouldn’t have and we lost yesterday and we shouldn’t have. We were far superior in all three games and that puts us in the play offs looking at automatic promotion even, and now it’s gonna be harder to get there. We’ve done well, but this league is well within our capabilities to get out of this season despite all the turmoil we been through. Brilliant as ever. Thanks for your reply. By no means a huge Ruel fan but I thought he was ok yesterday and wouldn’t have taken him off - there were a couple of times where he showed good feet and guile on the edge of the box but others weren’t making the right runs. Edwards is not up to it and hope not to see him given many minutes going forwards. I thought Pigott looked sharp when he came on and could have made a difference had he come on twenty mins earlier

Excuse me, but if anyone thinks Bristol were a decent side then they are as misguided as the officials today especially that linesman who in a short period failed to spot 3 offsides inc one which was 10 feet and 2 occasions where the ball was out of play. Their goal was a result of poor keeping, the scorers body shape made it clear what he was going to do, apart from that they didn’t even put together a decent move let alone threaten. We totally dominated the game but unfortunately our lack of a decent striker has and will cost us. O.k. Bristol defended doggedly but I think they were probably one of the worse teams I’ve seen and they were lucky to take 3 points. You surprise me.
