Who are our currently signed up players for next season? Are they:
KEEPERS Howes Byrne
DEFENDERS Cooper Beckles Sodje Light
MIDFIELDERS Galbraith Brown Sanders Moncur Zech
ATTACKERS Graham Agyei O'Neal Pegrum Piggot
Am I correct with the above? We need to secure our manager and get busy with signings.

If RW wants to go he should say so now.Tom James has not hit sparkling form all season, but he had a very sad bereavement which can badly affect people.

That is almost half a squad, someone needs to get busy, but I suppose talks have been going on for some time and the players will wait to see what offers come their way.I wonder if contracts expire at the start or the end of June and who has been tapped up.

Busy. But a major opportunity for RW to get the type of players he wants. Ling will have been working on this for weeks now identifying likely acquisitions. I’m sure preparations are well underway and we are ready to fight for those we want. A bun-fight awaits. But that’s why we have a DoF, it’s his job. James interestingly was our most used outfield player minutes-wise after El Miz. I would be surprised to see him not offered a new deal. Hope he is, a modest season by his standards but his standards are high. Time to walk the walk. We’ll do OK.

Dan Happe is technically not “ out of contract” as I believe the club has another year option that it could choose to enforce. In reality of course it rarely, if ever, proves effective to keep a player against his will hence the new contract offer that has been made.👍

Hope he is, a modest season by his standards but his standards are high. Time to walk the walk. We’ll do OK. His attacking contribution has been disappointing but I think his defending has gone underappreciated. We need a new fullback imo, but I'd offer James a new contract in a heartbeat.

My take on the out of contract players
James - comfortably renew him. Technically sound and without having an “outstanding” full back at the club, he’s probably our best one. (Not including Galbraith as I see him at CM)
Hunt - if we want to move to the next level, for me need to let him go. He’s a 6/7 most time he plays but if the club want that improvement it’s not Hunt for me. Sweeney as back up and a new first 11 LB needed. A brilliant L2 defensive FB, distinctly average at L1.
Happe - has been our best CB since for the last couple of years when fit. Great age and possibly a captain option if his heart is at the club and wants to stay. SIGN HIM UP although I suspect may have many suitors in waiting.
Simpson - even the brief amount I’ve seen, too elite for a mid table L1 team. Would love him and Happe as the partnership for next year. Would be in the top 5 partnerships in the league.
Thompson - thank you for the service.
Pratley - has Matt Harold’s job written all over it. Could be a player/coach for emergency scenarios (and playing Stevenage!)
Obiero - kids a baller - best player on the pitch for us last 2 starts. I’ve already seen enough.
Archibald - an 80% fit Theo is enough to take the punt. I’d look for an 1 year + extension option. Won’t have any other offers due to current injury.
Sotiriou - many don’t like him - I do though. Could see him leaving though and getting better offers due to age/international exposure and FT experience.

For me, Hunt would depend on getting James over the line and the FBs available. Having a 6/10 FB who can play both sides is a good squad option to have. Not necessary if the new guy can also play both sides though. Also depends on whether Richie might still consider turning to a 3-5-3 sometimes or if that ship has sailed. James can also play CB there and I think wingback might suit Sweeney better.

Likely to be a surfeit of players from above who are deemed not yet good enough. But fine at league 1 level, Galbraith an example. Tough time for many players, good time for scouts etc to show their skills at talent spotting. Likewise there will be a lot of players ready, willing and able to step up. Could well make us next season, we have some decent players under contract already. And of course loans. Interesting times for the club. Club reputation also helps.

We just need to sign 5 or 6 more Galbraiths.

What about the other players out on loan (apart from Thompson)? Rhys Bryne and Harrison Sodje
And we also have 5 loans at the club.
What are the chances of any of them for next year being at the O’s Idris El Mizuni, Shaqai Forde, Sol Brynn, Khayon Edwards or Daniel Adu-Adjei

Depends, of course, how he's viewed with a professional eye, but I've got a feeling we may offer a contract to Adu-Adjei.

Having said that, I'm a bit puzzled why we've played him at all during the recent depressing run, given that we could have given, say, Pegrum a chance. Then again, RW moves in mysterious ways.
