If you are (or you know) a female player who wants to kick on with her football career as part of a professional and competitive team, here's a chance to join Leyton Orient Women for 2024/25 and play in a senior, u18 or u16 regional premier league. See how to join at: lofcwomen.com/xnews18.htmlHmmm... Leyton Orient! I've heard of them!

Well done Fisch I clicked it and was like wow, Good work.
I am passing it to the recruitment manager at my club to see if he has any interest in passing girls / women over and I'm going to suggest maybe seeing if we can establish a link / pathway to the O's.
You never know!

Great stuff Thor, it seems to me that recruitment will be key to us getting any success this year. The two clubs coming up the into Premier League (South London and Brentford) are super strong so the league will not have weak sides.
The u18s will have to match the "methods" employed by Haringey in order to play on a level field.

Fisch, you should be rewarded by the club for your efforts with the women’s team A nice thought mrb but we have very little contact with the club, corporate processes and all that. It isn't just me, Larry Peterson (not a boarder) does most of the hard work and incurs most of the costs. The previous post about recruitment was mostly written by @dubioushubris and much of the software improvements come from ChatGBT who's source of well compiled code is astonishing. We have vacancies for a good-ish occasional photographer to help us build an image library and also someone who can put together and maintain a Wikipedia entry. Anyone? 🙂

Can be quite a frustrating thing to do.

So if Larry isn't on this board and you live abroad, how did you two come together in this project?

So if Larry isn't on this board and you live abroad, how did you two come together in this project? As I recall it, Larry saw the website and sent me a mail to suggest that he could send some photos... that's it really, our roles developed from the new opportunities he added. We've never met - it's the way of things these days it seems. We had our "ducks in a row" phone conversation today so I'll be in touch with @dubioushubris who looks like joining the crew very soon - like tomorrow.

It is a bit close to the River Roding and it's on a the flood plain. I think it is a good place with its ample parking, a small covered viewing place, free entry and you can get a cuppa etc there. It puts some higher league grounds to shame.

The view from the CEO's desk.....
Mark Devlin was a guest on the Orient Hour recently, during his interview Andy Gilson asked him about the next steps for the ladies' teams from a corporate standpoint. We've been naughty (probably) and recorded Mark's 2 minute answer and plonked it on YouTube. Catch it via lofcwomen.com

Under 18s girls' coach Dave Madell reviews last season's stellar inaugural season: "Mid June 2023, with 7 trials and to get the under 18 girls' side put together and good enough for the JPL. Looking back, this was madness personified....

The new grey/silver away kit for 2024/25 has been launched. The men's and women's teams will wear the same colours and will sport the same sponsors' logos and branding for the 2024/25 season. There's also a few words about a couple of players we hope will return for 2024/25 plus some new volunteers looking at joining the lofcwomen.com team. Details at lofcwomen.com/xnews05.html

Player recruitment sessions for the coming 2024/25 season will be run at the Douglas Eyre Sports Centre, Walthamstow, on the 18th, 20th, 25th and 27th June. The O's are looking for talented female players for (1) The senior team who play in the Greater London Women's premiership (GLWFL), and (2 & 3) our under-18s and under-16 girls teams who play in the Junior Premier League (JPL).
If you know someone with the skills or the talent to acquire them then we want to meet them at on least one of the dates (above). At Leyton Orient, they can be sure of a warm welcome and successful recruits will enjoy the best care and facilities available anywhere.
Also, we may soon have an MP in the squad!

I wish you all the best with this venture.surely o's could let the ladies play from time to time just after the men's match at Brisbane road.it would be beneficial to draw attention to what you do. I've always loved ladies football especially the lionesses. So full blooded.great shame Rachel Daly quit england she was pure inspiration to young girls. Better than sitting at home, looking at a screen, gorging choccies.

Thanks for your kind words tommydark. We have tried to find a way to include women's games on first team match days but there are two insurmountable (so far) problems. 1. The women's Premier league games are played on Sundays so visiting teams normally include players who play for other sides on Saturdays or are not available for other domestic/work related reasons. 2. Changing room facilities are just not there for a long time either before of after a men's first team game. The long time lapse this would cause means spectators would not arrive that early or wait so long after a men's match.
