The second of four player recruitment sessions is underway today as the O's seek to strengthen their female squads for the coming season. A huge undertaking in that there'll be a new team to play in the JPL under 16s and many of last season's under-18s are no longer under 18 - and there wasn't an under-16s squad to recruit from. Sounds like a mountain to climb!
Pre-season friendlies are starting to be confirmed, details of our match against tier 6 Clapton CFC, today's brief update is at lofcwomen.com/xnews07.html

I wish you all the best with this venture.surely o's could let the ladies play from time to time just after the men's match at Brisbane road.it would be beneficial to draw attention to what you do. I've always loved ladies football especially the lionesses. So full blooded.great shame Rachel Daly quit england she was pure inspiration to young girls. Better than sitting at home, looking at a screen, gorging choccies. The versatile and ultra combative Rachel Daley not being a recent regular starter in the recent England team was a strange selection decision ( along with a few recent others ) that must have made Rachel decide to quit playing for the England ladies team. The manager has her favourites who she would sooner pick even when some of them are not even fully fit.

Agree 100% Denis, the manager has her favourites erps, bronze can do no wrong.Rachel didn't do herself any favours being so helpful in playing anywhere.A smashing girl.hope she mentors young players now.a real star England's loss.silly management. Add to that playing Millie Bright in the last few games when she is struggling, slow and not yet over her long term knee injury and also Leah Williamson selected for England when she was not anywhere fully fit and only able to last half a game for her club side Arsenal and yet the outstanding Alex Greenwood was dropped to make space at centre half. Beth Mead another favourite and selected for England when she was still getting over her ACL injury and struggling to finish a game for Arsenal and even now she is still nowhere back to her best. The two central midfielders Keira Walsh and Georgia Stanway are another two ''Undroppables'' even after they have dreadful games. Until the last few game, the all action centre forward Alessia Russo has regularly been dropped or substituted. Some bad form and big blunders on team selections ended up with England being unable to qualify for this years Olympics. Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton played really well in the win against France and on form should keep her place in the team over Mary Earps but will Hannah also get dropped when Mary is fit for selection ?

Greenwood another wonderful example of ladies football at its best. Had her face smashed in more than once has had facial surgery, yet still sticks her head in..bleeding hero, then dropped! Hamptons long passes right to a players feet are a joy.no goalie man or woman does that better IMO. When they are on TV I always watch.

Nothing official (there never is) but l reckon Tara Copeland (standing for parliament later today), Charlotte Lynch (Social media talent), Kirsty Jackson (international fitness centres) and Shakira Waithe (dunno) have kinda drifted off. We'll post it once the FA publishes the new registered players list.

At the insistence of the people behind lofcwomen.com, here's an explanation about who this foreign based fella called Paul Fischer (hence: "Fisch") is, how lofcwomen.com got started, what's coming next and how are Islington Borough (pic) ladies involved in it all? It has become necessary to answer the question: Why is this bloke in Croatia so interested in the O's women's team?
The short answer is at lofcwomen.com/xnews10.htmlThis is Islington Boro's ladies team at Freedom Stadium in my adopted town of Varazdin, Croatia. How did that happen?

Continuing our introductions of the people behind lofcwomen.com, here's an explanation about who the noisy bloke is who's seen at the women's matches yelling encouragement whilst shooting video clips for lofcwomen.com and sending live text updates. Here's a short piece describing our own Larry Peterson and how he came to be an integral part of the what we do. Go to lofcwomen.com/xnews13.html for a short read about him.

Orient ladies win again in today's pre-season match against higher league opposition. Some good performances among the new players show progress is being made.
Questions arise about which league we'll be playing in.

This is strange. We cannot find a league which includes the senior Orient women's team. We should still be in the Greater London WFL premier division - but we're not included. We've Looked up a league, down a league and sideways too. No sign of us.
Either there's been a cock up somewhere or some manoeuvring is going on.

Still no sign of the LOFC women's team being included in any FA affiliated League. The question we put to the head coach remains unanswered.
Secret squirrel stuff going on or a balls up somewhere... Who knows?

Another straight win for the Os women
Today was the third pre-season game for the Orient ladies, all three matches have been against Tier Six sides, that's one higher than we were playing last season in the Greater London Premiership. With results like these, Danny Martin and his side must be growing in confidence that they can push hard for the top spot in the coming season.
Today's win follows a 3:2 away win at Stanway Pegasus (Colchester) and a 5:2 victory at Loughton over slightly below strength Dulwich Hamlet 2nds last Sunday.
