Wonder if their agents are waiting for offers from other clubs or waiting for a better offer from the O's? I seem to remember Minton and Christie waiting for a better deal from us, Minton never played League Football again and Christie later admitted he didn't realise how good payers we were. A case of "I wish I knew then ......".

Happe Sotiriou James Phillips Archibald Think Happe will stay. Think Sitirou will get a better offer and leave. Think Phillips will leave. Think James will leave. Think Archibald will stay.

Yes, their current contracts run to the end of June, but I believe that any new contract offers can be withdrawn after 28 days after its been instigated or even altered. I may be wrong on this

If you are you shouldn't be. In a podcast Richie said he hoped those players would be honest with him on their intentions.

I’d like Happe to stay, but he’s a decent left sided CB who can pick a pass, so for me he will be in demand from other clubs.
Ruel wants to be starter, with Agyei fit he is unlikely to be. Reckon he’ll be off.
RW has shown his faith in James by ditching Hunt, hopefully that will tip things in our favour and he’ll stay.
Know nothing about Phillips but as a young keeper he’d have to expect to be out on loan again. Difficult for him to pick up a starting berth anywhere without dropping down the leagues. I reckon he’ll stay.
Archibald will stay.

I may be wrong on this you are quite correct in what you say. I also think we've learnt from the Adams fiasco and we may be a little more conciliatory towards those types of conversations. Didn't Ruel go very deep in time with his last contract renewal, even being back in pre season training before signing?

We must ask would Ruel be hard to replace, his work rate and scoring ability tells me yes.He has also become a utility player which is another reason to keep him.

Not sure about the others but Archibald will definitely be staying, no club is likely to sign a player when its not even known if he can even physically play a game in the upcoming season.

If Ruel were to decline our offer and sign elsewhere, I would be angry.
Obviously he would go for free, and we would be done out of a fee.
Ruel is probably worth around £400,000 in todays transfer market, and we'd lose that.
Peterborough sign all their players on 3 year contracts, and they are put on the transfer list after 2 years, meaning they get a fee for all their players.
This is a model we should be using....not letting our best players go for free

But Peterborough do seem to get things right quite often.

My reason for the initial post is that we need to know ASAP whether we can go for another particular player hence a deadline set

How much, who knows!
