Just got back from the ground so here is an quick update on the works.
The pitch is being dug up tomorrow and relaid in the coming days now that
all the lettings have finished.
The East Stand undercroft is progressing nicely. Refurbished gents and ladies loos
and the removal of the old players bar have given us much more space. It really
will be more comfortable for everybody and is going to look good too.
The South Stand bar has been completely gutted and I was surprised at what a vast
space it is when empty. Regulars there will be pleasantly surprised I think by the more
spacious surroundings and easier service.
It was a hive of activity over there and it must be costing a fortune, I didn't take any
photos but I'm sure the club will issue some soon. Up the O's.

Don't know why we keep digging the pitch up year on year? Surely its better to build on what we have and improve it. Its funny the pitch looked better at the end of the season than it did at the beginning and now we go back to square one again.
Don't make sense to me.

I thought it was a hybrid with synthetic "grass" interwoven with the natural stuff. The mind boggles at the cost of re-doing it.

Seems that pitch is going to be a money pit each year to maintain.
The south goalmouth area looked all patchy like a mangey cat last season

S did the north, it was nigh on bare to start with. Maybe the man with the tools should be looked at?

Surely there's no need to lay a new pitch, only the areas in question needed to be re seeded

Maybe undersoil heating powered at times by the new solar panelled roof.Could do with that to stop my feet getting cold in the East Stand.

Ha the good old east stand.
As a kid my parents had front row centre stand season tickets.
Trouble was if anyone over six foot stood leaning against the wall of the standing area in front of us,I could hardly see the pitch.a good thing actually in season 1970-71!

In the 3 year period we received £3.43m from the PL of which £1.4m was for core funding, £1.34m for the academy £694K for community work.
