Spain always looking to play forwards that's the big difference to what I've seen from England so far.Spain are the best team in the tournament I suspect England missed their best opportunity to win a major tournament three years ago against a pretty limited Italian team. Hard to see England beating either Spain or Germany but at least they only play one or the other in the final. Only IF they can raise their game and beat Switzerland first !

Another dreadful and very lucky performance. Fans were fantastic, England team performance doesn’t deserve such good support, I don’t think England have particularly good supporters. Throwing things at the manager and booing the team.

I don’t think Switzerland are particularly good. When did the Swiss ever reach a semi final in a major tournament? (Answer: never) Romania, Netherlands, Austria or Turkey in semi-finals. Countries that I would expect a sub-par England to beat as well.

We've been turgid but that Bellingham goal will live long in the memory. Coincidence that we looked so much better after Trippier went off injured? 🤷 No coincidence. Not a left back. Similar with Foden playing wide. The way forward is to play players in their best positions. Might have to just play three at the back if there isn’t a left back. Sorry, I thought it was obvious I was being facetious.

I started this thread off with Bellingham the golden child scoring the first goal in the championships. He delivered last night with a truly outstanding goal, let's face it who tries such things with 87 seconds remaining? The boy has talent galore and a serious belief in his ability.
Shame his manager does not trust the players to play the way they are comfortable with. We have a very offensive team / players yet we are constraining them with the defensive tactics employed. 3-5-2 is the way to win this tournament.

Watching England is just stressy stuff that we all don't need in our lives TBH I don't find it stressfull anymore. If we win we win I half expect them to lose so anything else is a bonus.

Perhaps these so called stars England have aren’t as good as everyone thinks they are . They are great in their club environment surrounded by real stars with even greater ability than their own and it makes them look good .

Throwing things at the manager and booing the team. If you watched the game you saw the fantastic support these travelling fans gave the team. Just how else can they respond to Southgate and his dreadful out of position team selection, lack of technical nouse, non existent motivation and over inflated ego?? Did you listen to every pundit, players and managers with hundreds of caps between them saying the same thing? He has taken good players and made a scared, boring and mediocre team out of them.

I don’t listen to any of the pundits. I turn on at kick off, grab something to eat at half time, and turn off at final whistle. The situation with Southgate is no different to that of pretty much every England manager since 1970. Apart from Venables, I can’t think of any other that hasn’t been accused of exactly the same things as Southgate.
