Some of the names I've been hearing we are interested in like Fankaty Dabo a RB relegated with FGR last season and Alfie McCalmont a CM relegated with Carlisle are worrying These are only rumours and I originally laughed them off but it's a little concerning currently. I'm hoping Lingy and the club suprise us all next week and bring in some cracking signings, fingers crossed. Relegated teams can have some good players. Wouldn't mind giving Dabo a chance at all. Realistically we're gonna be in for a few players whose careers have stalled and he's one of em. Has loads of experience in the Champ and L1 and probably could've done without the procession of clowns managing him at Forest Green.

Lingy will only be interested if that Frap is free/cheap, unwanted, past it's sell by date and slightly damaged, even then by the time he's thought about it another poor man has taken it. On the plus side he's got good people looking at Costa and Cafe Neros and he's making a list of 4 or 5 different options Is that why we are in League 1 and have two promotions in five years. Don't get me wrong we have done well but in my opinion that's down to having two quality managers in Justin and Richie that got the best out of average players, let's be honest when we brought in Idris it was off the back of an underwhelming loan from Grimsby. I love the club, owners and Lingy but we are Farm Food shoppers in a league of M&S connoisseurs

To be fair you're right on Dabo, he went from one kick away from the Premier League to Troy Deeney singling him out as under performing. Not sure how true the rumour is but the same guy did say we were interested in Perkins before we got him on loan.

Surely we must see a few really decent signings next week.Other clubs seem to really be bolstering their squads It’s going to happen, it has too. Plenty of activity going on with even the less-big clubs doing business. If we don’t add depth we will be in trouble, really vulnerable to injuries, suspensions, fatigue, form. So it has to happen.

According to Transfermkt Juando Fuchs has been released by POSH and according to them. Midfielder.

We should have signed every player mentioned on this thread, had a bigger squad than any other team. But then again, some would still want more.

I take my lead from what the club says which is reasonable, I doubt I am alone. Two examples, Richie’s recent 4/6 players and NT and the need to move quicker. The club set the expectations. Speculation results about the who and when based on this. Very understandable in my opinion. Issues arise when the club set expectations about players and don’t meet them. Sometimes it’s best to say nothing.

Their club, their money, their plans. But I’m sure you really do understand the point I was making. Not complex. It’s about listening to what ‘the club’ say. You know that same as me. They quoted numbers, not me. Both RW and NT have spoken about timing and preparation not me. Which is why I said sometimes is best not to say anything. It’s about setting expectations. And let’s face it, we all knew the act quicker stuff was never going to happen. But players will come in of course. And it is a reasonable observation that as of today with two out and three in we are not in an improving situation just yet. I’d argue we are weaker than a few weeks ago. So of course players will come in.

So of course players will come in. I think this is too simplistic. Its simply a case of what they want versus what they are able to achieve. You cant force someone to sign. Our budget dictates that each signing has to fill a hole and that signing often will help dictate the next signing. Stating 4/6 is a statement of intended ambition not a standard by which to damn them. If they said nothing, as you suggest, then you would be decrying their lack of ambition / focus / coffee. Maybe lay off them a bit, eh?

Stand by the club and its agents who scout and recommend players who have the style of play RW wants at the club.We are not rich,we have to be careful as a wrong two or three two year contracts can lessen our squads ability of the clubs ambition. If you don't think the club has ambition, just look at its recent success on the pitch and the ongoing gain in sponsorship and costly ground improvements.
