I’m hoping if RW does not want Howes as our no 1 for us to put more of the remaining budget into the best goalie we can afford I see the goalie in this league as critical to our success given that most of the teams can beat any other team generally. A very good goalie will give us the edge against similar teams and assist us beating the better teams. I doubt we will be a free-scoring team going forward so it’s vital we are tight at the back. I assumed Howes was brought in to be our keeper this season. Given he didn’t get much game time during the unimportant end to our campaign can we assume he will remain a reserve? Probably. Hard to judge if he has developed into a good enough league 1 keeper. Wouldn’t surprise me if we bring in another loan. Then again I wouldn’t be surprised if Howes gets the nod.

I agree totally with eca above. We need a good spine to achieve our aim of top 6. An experienced goalie is a must.as is a defensive midfielder.both on loan on best wages we can offer As jimmy Bloomfield used to say football is a matter of opinion. Others I'm sure will differ.

Jimmy Bloomfield said that to me when I asked about a certain player.Pleased to say Jimmy was right and I was oh so wrong.

All depends if he’s now seen the light and listens to what Richie has to say. If he does and lives up to his talent, could be the best loanee for some time. You might be right but I’m not sure going for someone who is “ looking to get his career back on track “ is necessarily what we need! Still, we must give the boy a chance and hope he comes good.

That would worry our opposition. What happened to the Spammers centre forward they called Psycho back in the day. Has he still got his boots. Could a Costa coffee account entice him back.

Being too lazy to investigate... Has young Perkins done anything of note in first team football? Is it a case of him showing a high degree of promise but, as yet, nothing much to show for it?

Came off the bench to score a last-ditch equaliser in the FA Cup, but undoubtedly the highlight of his career so far has been signing on loan for Orient 2 days ago.

I’ve a good feeling about this young lad based on nothing!
He’s been here before, was sold as a special talent, been at two premier league clubs, has something to prove, has Ritchie to guide him and with everything coming together we’ve got a player on our hands.
He’s gonna deliver, he’s gonna be good, that’s my gut feeling and I’m liking the fact he’s got something to prove, hunger, desire, it’s game on from me. He gonna surprise a few people.

We have to trust RW and ML judgement so far in my opinion they've got the vast majority of new signings spot on since Richie has been here.Gailbraith and O'Neil have been great finds and Dan Agyei if he stays fit will score 20 plus goals this season i reckon. Our loan signings last season were very good Idris Forde and the young Goalkeeper all performed and improved as the season went on.Lets see where we are and what we look like once all our business is done

So many talented youngsters fall by the wayside when the lung-busting side of the game is required. Ruel was put on the right track by Kenny J and has reaped the rewards in my view. He's a contender now, will Sonny produce the whole range of goods needed?
Hope so.

As a junior he was very highly rated and played for England at every level from under 16 to under 19. I guess not many league one forwards can boast that so he has obvious skills. Let’s see if he can progress with us.

Don't know about Psycho himself, but his daughter Kate has done more than ok at cricket!

Watford will want him in for preseason I'd imagine so as to take a closer look at him and then decide if he goes out again or stays and fights for a place. Personally I dont think he's ready for the championship just yet, another season in league 1 would do him good.
