I’d suggest he is a work in progress, just as El Miz was when he joined us. After 12 months if he develops well, then I’d expect us to offer him an extension to his contract. Welcome to the O’s I get it, but we don't do that, do we? |

I think it gets shared out according to time spent, I could be wrong though. I’ve tried to find out before but it seems as clear as mud. Compensation for training and development fine, assume we got compensation for Soteriou. But with Lewis it was Everton who did the work and subsequently let him go. We signed an unemployed player. Not clear whether we get compensation should he refuse a new offer and move on. Anybody know? |

Everton did not so compensation does not apply. it’s reasonably clear as in the case with Ruel where he was offered a new contract. Warrington was not. He was unemployed when we signed him. He did not come through our academy. Thats the aspect that is unclear. If he goes in 2 years are we entitled to compensation? Reading Buffalobill input regarding Sunderland it appears we would be due some. That would be good. The ifs and buts will affect how much. |

Good point about the contract offer, it doesn’t appear he was offered one according to Everton website. Should have checked that out before I typed ‘could’. |

Buffalobill linked a good site and based on that, even if he didn’t come through the academy, we get compensation. Assume the same applies to Galbraith whose contract runs out in June. |

We lost Ruel due to it and we will continue to lose players because of it. We are like dinosaurs. |
