Nigel gets a little carried away with the good news stuff on the odd occasion. It comes from a good place so we shouldn't criticise him for it. Frankly, in his position, I'd probably be far worse. You ain’t the chairman though Fisch! Good as NT is, I don’t think he should be immune from criticism and imho his earlier words have created a rod for poor old Lingy’s back. Just my view.👍 Balancing the dynamic ambition of RW with the plodding of Ling is a tricky thing to achieve. He’s between a rock and a hard place.

Balancing the dynamic ambition of RW with the plodding of Ling is a tricky thing to achieve. He’s between a rock and a hard place. Stick to the Wessex league dohnut I am sure you will enjoy that more. Minutes to the ground. Easy free parking, no queues to get in, pint whilst watching the game when I don’t drive, usually plenty of goal mouth action, decent fast food outlet. Quality not EFL standard but exciting at times, always the chance of a major cockup, the odd pinch up, the usual criticism of the officials by some. All for a fiver. Love it. And only feet from the action. Sadly my arduous round trip to Brisbane Road has finally got the better of me. Will still go (addicted, no cure) but not so often. Looking forward so some away games.

Being realistic is why this club has been out of the second tier for 42_years Before I get measured up for my wooden overcoat I'd just like to see "The orient" as Bloomfield always called us,back in tier two!

Throw the unrealistic expectations of some fans into that mix and you are going to start encountering issues!😆😆👍💰☕️ are we an unrealistic bunch? Ignore player speculation, bit of fun to pass time. We know we cannot compete with bigger teams. We know our budget is less than others. We know our stadium capacity limits us. We know owners cough up millions every year, we appreciate that. We know who we are, where we are right now. And probably will be for some time barring a miracle or disaster. Great, much better than the recent past. Happy place. But my point is this. We are not unique compared to many league 1/2 sides (and others too). Spend wisely and get every ounce of value from the pound spent. Where we seem to be unique is the speed that we move. Jeez, even Southend signed 2 players shortly after the embargo was lifted and they definitely ain’t got much money. I’m not convinced that deep down we have unrealistic expectations, just those created by the club.

You are an Orient faithful, hope you see many home games and we know how much you love the away games. I may take in a few Essex Senior League games, spoilt for choice.Barkingside I can walk to Woodford Green at Ashton playing field a short bus ride.Another short bus ride to see the Women play at Buckhurst Hills ground if it ain't flooded as it is a flood plain.I will also take in on TNT as many National League games as I can.

Been wondering how Richie is going to set us up next season. 4-3-3 like much of last year, 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 using the CB depth to allow us to use wingbacks, or a diamond midfield. Any views on what you’d do with this squad? I might go 3-5-2 with Agyei and Kelman up front, O’Neill and Graham in wingback roles and Moncur in 10 role, with Brown and Galbraith. Happe, Simpson and Beccles at the back and then a goalkeeper.

I am not one for set ups as it seems to go haywire once the game starts. You cannot with any certainty know how a player of the opposition is going to play in their good form or in the same position.Conversly who or how many in our team are going to show their best or play poorly. I do wonder how many players in our team need to be at their best to make it a good game and a win or a good draw.

O’Neill and Graham the providers, Agyei the main striker and Kelman making a nuisance of himself. As the game progresses James to cover either wingback depending on circumstances, DJ too. Pratley coming on for Brown and Cooper when needed. But that’s good for a while, 46 league games, injuries and suspensions and form and the options become the kids. Plus of course cup games, busy first two months . plus those still to come in. And a goalkeeper too.

Another day passes us by and another week. We are now going to be in the same position as last season, God help us. We never learn. But I’ve little doubt players will arrive, who knows some before Spain. Maybe I’m delusional. I think the club are planning doing just enough to have a decent mid-table season. Hopefully we will do that. Given the competition this season, play offs are unlikely unless RW is a miracle worker. He is certainly good enough for us to stave off relegation. So we stabilise and park real ambition. Fair enough I suppose, I’d sooner an average season in league 1 than where we have been in the last few seasons. But not inspiring after some positive rhetoric.

I'm going to say we've ended up with unrealistic expectations. Despite the well intentioned and hawkish rhetoric fron our leaders, the making of deals in our sphere depend almost entirely on the settlement of other deals further up the food chain. The timing of any of this is 90% out of our control. We could follow Steve Evans and pay top dollar for people and miss out on later opportunities. It remains to be seen which strategy will prove the better option.

With all the talk or getting players in early and having little black books of targets we are a few days away from our (late) pre season training camp with 2/3 starters missing.
The Spanish training camp should be about getting the squad on the same page tactically and with such big positions missing then it's an opportunity missed.
From Mark Devlins response on X it seems we will have to wait a little longer yet.
Hopefully they suprise us by announcing at least one tonight.
