Seen only The Hollies and Neil Diamond live,ND was at Woburn.Plus a lot of groups at The Red Lion Leytonstone and many at the Wake Arms. The more I think though the more I remember mainly the single artists and the brother types at Leyton Baths on a Saturday night.Emile Ford is largest in my mind. Would loved to have been at te Status Quo concert and at a Queen concert with the megalomaniacal incredibly talented Freddie Mercury.

Gigs ? They were called ''Concerts'' when I was a teenager !
Remember going to see the Beach Boys in 1966, OMG could hardly hear anything because of all the girls screaming !

I used the word "gig" as I recall that's how Francis Rossi referred to concerts.

The 1984 End of the Road Tour gig at Milton Keynes Bowl was only the 3rd time I'd seen The Quo live, the second time I saw them live was the previous week at Selhurst Park on Saturday 14th July and my very first Quo gig was 8 days before that on Friday 6th July at Hammersmith Odeon, I was 18 years old turning 19 in the August, between 1984 and the mid Nineties I saw Quo live getting in for 50 times.
I love Status Quo they were a big part of my life growing up in the 80's having left School and starting work.

I used the word "gig" as I recall that's how Francis Rossi referred to concerts. Yes that word was used originally by traveling bands of Jewish musicians who found paid work hard to come by in the late 19th century and early 20th century. When then did get lucky it was noted down in their performance calender as ''God is good'' or God is great'' thus later shortened to GIG !

I saw the Quo supporting Rod Stewart at Wembley stadium in the early 90’s. They were very good I must admit and I don’t think I’ve seen so many speakers on a stage before, they must have been deaf for so many to be there! The crowd were proper rocking that’s for sure.

Saw Jethro Tull in 1974.I was one of the youngest there(16) Everywhere were blokes with beards and ladies with long dresses and sandles. Following year saw Black sabbath. That volume wouldn't be allowed now!

I saw them at that Selhurst Park gig too, diverse line up including Chas and Dave if memory serves right. It bucketed down when Quo were on, there was also a US band giving it the big one and they got pelters

Saw Kiss, AC/DC, Rainbow, Roxy Music, Bad Company, Deep Purple, Scorpions, SAHB, Ted Nugent amongst others. Don't go so much now, last gig was a Dutch band called Delain in February and next one later this year will be Within Temptation.

I know Nazereth were on the bill. I don't really go to concerts any more tbh, I've seen a few bands, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Queen, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Gun and loads of others I've probably forgotten about, used to go to the Royal Standard at Blackhorse Road and The Green Gate (Oscars) at Newbury Park now of course a Macdonalds, saw some great acts, The Phil Hillborne Band at the Standard, saw Suzi Quatro at the Standard too, Brothers Grimm at Oscars and another decent band called Raiders of the lost Fart, I remember Oscars was Heavy Metal disco Friday nights and live music Saturday nights, The Standard of course live music practicality 7 nights a week, I used to get down the Ruskin Arms now and again and the Burnell Arms occasionally. Good times, proper times, less technology than we have now, of course we're living in a modern age, I was born in 1965 so the 80's was my for want of a better word my growing up era and I miss it sometimes, call me old fashioned but I cant get into this new modern music, the 60's 70's and 80's music imo is so much better

I was at that one too, was that when you had to queue twice for beer? once to by the vouchers and then once you had your vouchers you had to queue again to get served the beer, of course everyone was buying enough vouchers for 3 or 4 or 5 pints, at least me and my mate did lol, and the pints were placed on a cardboard tray? Then of course inbetween acts the cardboard trays became frisbies, looking up there were thousands of these trays flying around lol, I think the guy your talking about got pelted with cardboard trays lol.

I saw Guns and Roses at Wembley Stadium on their Use Your Illusion Tour, Nine Inch Nails were the support act.
Anyway I went off of Guns and Roses a bit after that concert, Axl Rose on stage was trying to act Bad Ass but instead or at least to me it seemed very fake, made himself look like a bit of a w***** in my eyes, Slash on the other hand on lead guitar was something else.

Absolute disgrace. That council will do anything to build flats everywhere, looking at the prices none are affordable either.

Never saw Thin Lizzy, expected to at Reading in 79, but they dropped out. Replaced by the Scorpions who were excellent, stand out was We'll Burn The Sky. One of the best more recent gigs I've seen was Evanescence at Hammersmith in 2017. Night before the Grenfell fire, weather was baking hot and they passed water out to those nearest the stage. Used to see some good bands at Walthamstow Assrmbly Hall, Budgie and Stray were regular visitors.
