Assuming no knocks a decent run out. Not too much to read into the performance. Bit worried about those missing, Theo, Graham, Simpson. Squad looks thin. But they know what they are doing.

Gailbraith, Kelman and Obiero stood out for me with their speed of thought and quick feet.

Simply put the diamond didn't work for us, the the moment we went back to our normal 4-2-3-1 we controlled the game.
Kelman is so much stronger now than when he was first here and it's clear he is loving being back at us, just remember Richie knows best.

Simply put the diamond didn't work for us, the the moment we went back to our normal 4-2-3-1 we controlled the game. Kelman is so much stronger now than when he was first here and it's clear he is loving being back at us, just remember Richie knows best. [br Just seen Richies interview post D&R and he said he is sticking with the diamond as he wants to play Dan and Charlie upfront together as a pair. I trust everything Richie does at the club but it worries me we are changing our whole system to fit in two strikers. He also adds that we are looking for a right sided winger, but if we are planning on sticking to the diamond shouldn't we be looking at getting more depth in the number 9 position. I think the next few weeks are going to be very interesting. |

I'm worried because it leaves our full backs exposed, they will be expected to get much further up and I worry about the pace of our CBs (Becks in particular) to cover the gaps. I'm also slightly concerned that it leaves us a little short for depth if we are going to play two up top, we currently have only 3 out and out strikers and one of those (Perkins) is being talked about more as wide cover. Like I said I trust Richie has this all planned out and it's been his long term plan to change shape. |
