So unlucky and we didn't deserve to lose that, yes Hemming had a nightmare but these things happen the most important thing is they are not repeated in the next 10 games.
On a massive plus point Kelman was a different class.

Frustrating but encouraging at the same time. We didn't deserve to lose it but, due to not sticking the ball away, we can't say we deserve to win it.
The keepers were the difference today. Good finish for their second goal to place it in the roof of the net.
So in the end, we drop one point.
Overall, I'm encouraged by our performance.
Looking to take another positive, Happe only got a yellow, he could easily be missing a few games.

Don't mind losing by the odd goal to a team you'd expect to finish above us but we made a LOT of clownish errors today.
I thought if we were gonna push on this season we'd need to upgrade in goal at a minimum, but on that evidence we've done the precise opposite. Hopefully Hemming just needs a bit of time to sharpen up, cos if that's representative of his level then we need to send him back and replace him sharpish.

Just seen the difference between the keepers. One cocks up the other great save. How games are won and lost. Going to be a long and hard season and how did the Os wonder forward player , eg Dan Agyei perform ? Dan has been subject to so much pre season build up for him so far pre season !
Lastly to cap it all off, Victor Adeboyejo comes on as sub and scores against the Os, his old team !! Very worrying about the very poor performance shown by the Os on loan keeper, well they had so much time to get a solid replacement in, so let us hope that awful performance was a one off otherwise panic bells will sound !

Dramatically lacked width was most noticeable from an outfield perspective. Graham and Archibald out there changes the whole dynamic but won’t see that for a long time. Also a Shaq Forde as well.
I don’t like putting down our own but the keepers performance was simply shocking. Didn’t catch a cross. Terrible positioning. If I comment on the goals I may get banned! May I never witness a GK performance in an Os shirt like that again.

Howes will look at that and wonder why he can’t get a game. Hemming was poor, not just the goals but his general control of the box and his clearances. Schoolboy stuff. The back 4 needs confidence in the keeper, that will make them jumpy. Still, let’s hope that’s his bad game out of the way. |

You’re right Dennisrofe. We take an age to bring in a keeper and this is who we brought in. let’s pray it’s a one off. |

You’re right Dennisrofe. We take an age to bring in a keeper and this is who we brought in. let’s pray it’s a one off. Howes was shaky in his first couple of games but improved. Maybe Hemmings will do likewise, but if he doesn't, Howes remains a decent alternative. |

I understand the frustration on the mistake to gift Bolton the win that they didn't deserve, but I like to think we won't crucify our new, 'young' keeper on his first appearance. If he gets wind of the vibe I can't see it helping things. Just my 2p.

The keeper had a poor game, everyone has them it's just when they make mistakes it normally costs teams goals.
I thought a draw would have been a fair result on the balance of the game, Bolton did not impress me to be fair and they played with fear at times. They do know what they are doing though and I suspect they will get better with more games played.
The disappointing thing for me though was Hemmings went straight down the tunnel at full time and didn't acknowledge the fans. I doubt anyone would have given him pelters, but for me he had to man up to the errors and show he's made of sterner stuff.
Hopefully he will learn from this and go on to have a good season.

We need to bear in mind it was only the first game of the season of course but overall I felt it was rather a mixed bag in terms of performance. Kelman was excellent in stark contrast to Agyei who looked well off the pace throughout. Brown covered well but didn’t see enough out of Galbraith or O’Neil and apart from one excellent effort Oberio was almost anonymous. At the back Clare was ok ( despite one horrendous pass across our own penalty box) and Happe looked good . Beckles as usual was lackadaisical and Sweeney tackled well but offered nothing going forward and still doesn’t convince me that he’s good enough to start. The less said about the goalkeeper the better imho. He must surely be better than what he showed this evening?
I really hope that the additional two players that RW has alluded to as potential signings are brought in quickly and can add something to the team . It will be needed I think.
