That was my first season of going to the O's.
First game for me was Derby in the FA Cup, Jan '75.

I didn't enjoy that Man. Utd game at all. I don't think we made much impact on the pitch, and penned in the south bank, away from the northern hordes, it really felt like we were 'little Leyton Orient'.

I don't think we made much impact on the pitch, and penned in the south bank, away from the northern hordes, it really felt like we were 'little Leyton Orient'. In fairness even with a decent capacity stadium we would always be small in comparison, but the same applied to many not only us. I did enjoy seeing us beat them in the top tier. Fascinating looking back at the fortunes of clubs back then. Some always around tiers 1 and 2. Sadly for others time has not been kind. Too easy to forget the smaller clubs like us, Carlisle and Northampton having a brief stint up there. Good memories.

The football wheel turns slowly. Some teams like Arsenal Manchester United Liverpool ect will always be classed as massive football clubs.I started supporting thd O's in the same year 1974 and can remember considering the likes of Charlton Millwall Luton and Portsmouth certainly Brentford and Bournemouth as similar if not smaller than us.The football wheel will continue to turn and some will grow and others will fall down the pecking order.Nowadays it all depends on the owners you have and how good they are.We have excellent owners but we need them to find us friends who will be willing to push us forward

So many unlikely teams have made the top flight, including ourselves. Notice how many times it triggers a decline. Us,Northampton,Carlisle,Wimbledon and probably more. All fell back from where they begun. If we ever get back we really will need friends with deep pockets. All we have to do is dream-dream,dream,dream

The everlasting joy of the tannoy message asking for the policeman climbing the floodlight pylon to come down by order.Back in the day when they all wore helmets not frowns.

Haven't forgotten the previous game, May 1974, the 1-1 draw against Villa that cost us promotion back to Div.1. Crowd of just under 30,000.

I think the biggest ever crowd was 31,000 against Tottenham in 1962/3. (We lost 5-1)
