We know most interviews are just trotted out to please us all. I think we could all see there wasn't much wrong with GM and his fitness. Don't get me wrong I think we can all see he isn't going to be at the top of the running or the fittest in the squad but our game doesn't suit him. It's the weigh off between his natural ability and awareness on the ball which far exceeds anything we currently have, or his fitness. Richie probably loves his ability but GM can't do the pressing. ''Richie probably loves his ability but GM can't do the pressing''ย Seems like the rest of the forwards and midfield cant do it for a whole game either, first 2 games we have run out of gas in the last 20 minutes.
cos we are not fit enough, simple as.

cos we are not fit enough, simple as. We employ a system that demands fitness yet after a full preseason of training and games we run out of steam three quarters of the game gone! Personally I thought we looked jaded shortly into the second half. Bodes well. Lucky only 8 games in the first two months.

The football is slightly on the crude side bit they will run teams down.

Paul McCallum makes it three goals in three games as Eastleigh sit two points clear in the National League.
I'd argue that Paul McCallum is the quintessential lower league striker ever.
The man loves a goal.

The man loves a goal. Seen him a few times, Eastleigh being convenient for me when sod all else to do. He just donโt look that good. Definitely wouldnโt want him at Orient. But he just gets loads of goals. Mystery.

He just seems to be functional.
Even for us I reckon he was a one on two or one in three striker. And that was maybe League Two?
And he didn't seem bothered ๐

Picking the time of the year temperatures touching 40 Deg C is that conducive for fitness training? A week in the mountains of Scotland or Hills of Wales would provide plenty of time to assess fitness in more agreeable temperatures.

Yes that Hearts friendly was the only decent test we had. Should've stayed and trained there and played another scot prem team. Poor pre season planning and a lousy start to the season

I think we need to be careful not to just criticise everything the club does just cos weve lost a few games.

Agree,it will take 8-10 games for the new players to bed in. But it was a low key pre season not conducive to flying off the blocks when season started imo
