I thought that kid that shrewsbury loaned from Chelsea was miles better than the one we loaned from spurs, but it’s early days. He was most probably because Shrews played to his strength.. We had no idea today

I’m not sure if it was that interview with RW and ML or the Q & A with Nigel (pretty sure it was Nigel) but when questioned about Shaq Forde supposedly the response was - “we’ve contacted Watford and have been told he’s not available.” Well that’s a lie - he moves to Bristol a day or two afterwards. If they not telling the truth on small matters like a players availability what else are we being fed? I’d have more respect if Nigel came out and said he’s not in our budget. Not sure why but that one has got under my skin.

But I guess sometimes they feel they need to be economic with the reality for reasons best known to them. They know the score, we don’t. Best cut them some slack, I’m sure they have good reasons.

Absolutely. I’m relieved to have this ownership over previous although I think they’re playing with fire at the moment. The clubs transfers of thinking they can bring in a load of young kids on loan is based on the foundations we have a manger who is excellent at developing them. If Wellens moves on, we aren’t left with much. If I look at our contracted players with any sellable/realistic chance of playing at a higher level I think we are cutting it really fine. Happe/Galbraith/Agyei contracts expire end of the season and in accordance with our “budget” without question will get bigger money elsewhere. I see two possible options to gain surplus funds for us to advance. Obiero - the kid is outstanding. I’ve already seen enough. If we don’t leave it until he has 6 months left - we should get a serious offer for him. Kyprianou sale - supposedly Peterborough turned down 3m in the summer. That tells you his current value. As I understand we have a 20%sell on so even at that 600k could go a long way. All in all, I think I’m just very frustrated by our transfer “strategy” and damn peeed off by today’s performance. I hope in at Christmas I read over this and eat my words so for that I live in hope. Rant over!

Why would you have said that? We had half a million to spend and the choice was better players or better toilets. The decision makes itself! The decision to have two player out on loan, paying part of their salary is scandalous. We should have retained Moncur. Our midfield is weak, no creativity, no stability. This is the one decision that still confuses me this window... Needed a player who is physical, keeps the ball and creates space up the pitch in certain games, like Charlton away. Who does that for us now?

So surprised that all the players who became available had not signed for the O's.

Ten games in and it seems opportune to reintroduce this thread for a bit of a “ retrospective” . I’m pretty sure there would be a considerably larger figure in the “ indifferent” or “ bad” category with the benefit of hindsight!

Can’t you reactivate the poll? Wouldn’t know how to . Why don’t you start a new one?
