Just read through this thread. What a bunch of moaners you lot are. I watched it. Enjoyed it and thought we looked good on the ball against a good Arsenal U21 team. I agred watfordo. But for an unlucky penalty from ags it would have been tied and Orient, infront of a rabid homecrowd, would have undoubtedly won the shootout decider and Bristol Street glory. Good lessons learned for the young Os and we go again Keep the Faith💪👍 That unlucky penalty from Ags was awful, why the fook didn't he just smash the ball , their keeper was crap and he wouldn't have stopped it even if it had been straight at him 🤔

It was a nothing game, except it wasn’t when you think about it. iThe opportunity to earn a little bit of money allowing us either to strengthen in January or reduce the amount our owners have to put in to keep us going. this competition is one where qualification for the next stage is not too difficult. But we messed up. And one where teams of our standing have a chance of a Wembley game in front of 40,000 people. Nothing game! Well it seemed like that to our players. Richie did his best to gloss over the performance, but it was poor. Very little quality out there. Very little effort out there from too many. Plenty of mistakes and not just the keeper. Moreover the club missed the opportunity to secure a much needed boost after Saturday’s fiasco. Morale will be even lower as we head to Reading. So a nothing game? Probably not. Of course it was NOT a nothing game and you are quite correct, a chance to make money and have a cup run. Seasoned pros losing to a team of 17 and 18 year olds is not a good performance.

I disagree. Richie needs to learn nothing from either you or I. Personally, Ive been pleased with most of what I have seen this season. That said, we dont score goals and havent done for a while. We need the x factor back that is Archibald and Graham. We had it in Smyth. That sort of magic will turn this team into something very special. I keep the faith. you would have read my previous postings over the four previous games where I have been going against the grain by saying we have and are playing well. However, we should not be losing to a kids side, end of. You have hit the nail on the head, we can’t score goals, that’s a problem. So how do we win, when we can’t score and every game we are gifting teams goals. We have needed a striker since Bonne left and he has still not been replaced. look at Sat stats 74% possession I recall we had yet got drubbed 3-0. I can take losing its part and parcel of the game, but are you really going to tell me the club backed RW in Jan and again this summer? Realist vs happy clapper !

Some league points would be nice 👍🏾 Agree. We had a poor start to last season too. Some in here were seriously questioning whether we should replace Richie too. We should be building a statue of the man rather than replace him, do that and we get related 1000%

Works both ways. RW also needs to recognise that last nights showing against a bunch of kids was not “ excellent” nor were the performances in the first three games “ brilliant”. Dont be banking so much faith on either of those players. I love Theo myself but you have to be realistic about the chances of him coming back the same player as he was before his injury. He has had a career ending ACL knee injury and has then had a delicate ACL repair operation ( and I know myself all about ACL knee injury's, torn knee cartilage etc) in order to recover from it. The knee has many things in it that if torn, worn, ruptured etc can finish off a sport persons career, so let us see if he recovers well enough to play football again at any level, it certainly wont be for the lack of trying on his behalf, health setbacks are all part of life's struggles and I really hope he does come back playing football again but no pressure to get back soon. As to Graham, he is an older player with a history of injuries so expect him back sometime but dont back all your future expectations on these two players being Leyton Orients salvation for this season.

It would have been much more of a “ nothing” game doh IF we had garnered 3 or 4 points from our opening league games. It attained a greater degree of importance imho because of four straight league defeats including an abject perfomance the previous Saturday at Shrewsbury. Contrary to Richie’s stated view I think the postponement o this coming Saturday helps us. Time to take stock, review the disappointing start, determine the best starting XI and - subject to injuries- stick with it and a settled way of playing for a few games in an effort to right the ship.

Couldn't agree more with this. As I mentioned elsewhere, the number of individual mistakes suggests to me that the players aren't well drilled enough yet, so it give us a chance to improve upon that. Also a week to get some of the new additions settled and up to speed.

We did have a poor start last season wo,but somehow this has a different feel to it..At the moment I can’t see the players who are going to drive us up the table..Yes I know it’s still very early days, but if only some of these players can just give us that glimmer of hope..

Exactly this. People need to calm down. OK, so let's look at our fixtures that are coming up. Reading away - they will run rings around us Stockport- they will run rings around us Wrexham - on form and a manager who wins ugly So after those 3 losses we are into Oct without a win. Thoughts then? Everyone was saying and thought millwall would run rings around us.Football is a funny old game

I am seeing a team that is adapting to different players coming in as well as strong opposition. This feels less serious to me than last season when our start wasnt as tough as this one. A result or two will result on more confidence and drier sheets from some members on this board.

Im sorry but that type of thinking is alien to me. I cant look to the future and just see pain. Im an optimist to my core. Always have been. Being an optimist or a pessimist will not change the outcome but I’ll enjoy the ride more than most. I also believe that optimists achieve more and encourage others. Having managed sales teams, I know this to be true.

I agree, Watfordo.
This is a stronger squad than last season and it is inconceivable that it won't do as well, unless panic or despondency sets in. It may take time before results begin to pick up though. It's a more competitive division and the next few fixtures are tough, but I have no doubt that if we keep our manager and our heads we'll be sitting comfortably by Christmas and enjoying performances at least as good as least season.

You’re certainly enjoying it more than I am 😂😂..I should know better I’m been following this mob long enough.. 🤣🤣🤣 I go to have fun. If we lose then, of course, Im not too happy but I rarely hyperventilate about it. I look to the next match and hope they get it right then. We’ve had more highs than lows since the new regime. Everything around the club is better (apart from the south stand makeover but at least they tried). We are more professional in every way and we have some ambition too! We never had that under Hearn. Im not going to let a few bad results and a bump in the road make me blind to what has been achieved.
