Richie doing what Richie does so well and that is to try to build confidence in the squad. Make them believe. Pick them up.
We all know tonight lacked quality, lacked intensity and I’m struggling to recall their keeper having to make too many difficult saves from opportunities created by us. The stats do favour us that’s true.
We have the right man for the job. But some times we see the smoke and mirrors, tonight was that from Richie, but fair play for trying to boost the players after that.can he boost the fans by getting a point or three soon!

That will come from his actions behind the scenes and in relationships with his team. I noticed in tonight’s interview RW mentioned how annoyed he was with Dan Happe at half time on Saturday. The interview post Shrewsbury he said DH was subbed off 2 minutes into the second half because of injury! Some of his comments need to be taken with a pinch of salt as they say!

He also contradicts himself at times. But he does it with enthusiasm and the right intent. And always entertaining. After a crap performance his interviews add a little light relief 90 minutes of him and 5 minutes of football has so much more entertainment value right now.

I only watched the last 15-20 mins of the game. I standby my comments. We should not be losing to a team of U21’s, these are professionals some of the seasoned and have enough in their locker to deal with kids, they are attached to a premier league club, but how many of these kids will make it at Arsenal? It’s embarrassing.

I didn’t watch the game, but can someone explain what we were doing in the Arsenal box. 51 touches, according to the stats, 7 shots on target and I’m guessing that might include shots from outside the box.

Too many of these goals being conceded because of mistakes down to lack of communication between defenders and the keeper, ending up with the opposition gaining the ball and scoring. First goal conceded Howes should have belted the ball down field and off for a throw in. Second goal he was way too far off of his line after Currie was outpaced by the Arsenal forward. Lastly if Richie ever gives up being a football manager, well he would make a good used car salesman !

Richie talks off the first goal as not a mistake. Think you must've been watching a different interview to me.

I listened to the whole interview and make him 100% right. Way, way, way too much negativity from some in here. I thought we worked hard, played well and didnt quite get the rub.

That being the case why are clubs keen on loaning out kids? It’s to prepare them for mens football. To develop their game, to bring them on. So they are not yet ready by definition. In time they may become great players, maybe not, but they are not right now. As a league 1 team we should not be losing to an U21 team. Especially given the team we put out.

Richie talks off the first goal as not a mistake. Think you must've been watching a different interview to me. The interviewer said about the first goal being a mistake by the keeper Sam Howes and Richie says '' Well there was nothing we could do'' Really ? How about the keeper just doing the simple defending basics and putting the ball out into row Z instead of passing it out to an Arsenal player ?
So many goals conceded this season down to defenders, keepers etc giving the ball away to the opposition, when the defense is exposed, are we ever going to learn ?
