An attempt to lull us into a false sense of security doh!😆😆 On the league 1 Facebook page. A worried fan has listed the players not available against us. Key players too it seems. So our task should be a little easier. I expect a win. And with all this practice in the final third, a few goals too. No sweat. The revival starts. My optimism knows no limits. It doesn’t work like that with us!

You can say that again especially with your rave early season comments about how good Jordan Graham was going to be this season when most others on the forum spoke with caution about his past injury record !!

You really have a thing about Graham. His record is Championship and league 1. 50 championship games for Birmingham until 2023 so recent. His quality is obvious for all to see. Well most of us anyway. Being injured does not affect quality, just frequency of appearance. But after a long injury he is struggling to hit form, maybe an injury too far. But I’m surprised you don’t know the difference between a good player suffering injury and a modest player suffering injury. Nor the fact that some good players never recapture former levels after an injury. This question in his case still has to be answered.

No doubt he was a good player in the past but in football you are only as good as your last few game and the fact that as footballers get older, even the best of them lose their edge as injury's start to happen on a regular basis. Early season you bigged him up so much as a player who you thought would light up the Os forward line this season when in fact that was obvious to most others on this forum that it was unlikely due to his many ongoing injury problems. Great if it does happen but unlikely to happen on a regular basis if at all. As you wrote about yourself ''My optimism knows no limits''

My optimism was about results, I expected a win today given Northamptons injury crisis. But it seems they can grind out a win despite this.

I’m in dohnuts corner here, Graham will come good, just give it time and you will see. Remember the old saying, form is temporary, class is permanent.

Anyway questions about a six-pointer have been answered.
For us it was a nil-pointer.. No crumbs of comfort about seeing us develop into capable team either.

The way shoulders slumped after their goal went in was very discouraging and doesn’t bode well. The thing is red I’ve noticed that before this game. Seems the feeling is we go a goal down and it’s game over. Exactly how I feel. To me it’s been clear for some time our problems are in the mind. No steel in the team, no drive, no real fighting quality. Quarter of the season gone and we look and feel like relegation fodder, even RW seems on a downer. No more cheeky chappy. Our style of football is energy sapping and ineffective. A toxic situation where every missed chance or mistake at the back becomes magnified. Quite a concern. But nothing a decent win can’t fix.

If RW relaxes and the players do the same everything will be fine
Brian Clough took his team out for a gentle walk on the beach before a very big match I read they did hardly any training - and they won

I well remember dohnut waiting patiently for his midfield saviour Callum Reilly to get over his groin problem, he was going to sort things out and get Os ticking, well we all know how that saga ended up.

The basics of any football team is the central spine, goal keeper, centre halves and centre forward positions. WE neglected the goal keeping and centre forward positions and instead signed poor quality loan players for goal keeping, plenty of midfielders and loaned Perkins and Kelman for the centre forward spot, enough said !

As has been mentioned many times previously den, the club has a propensity to sign players who have experienced injury issues for the simple reason they come more cheaply than others. The Reilly issue was just one of a number. Remember Jordan Lydon who we signed? Another former Wellens player at Swindon who’d been out long term. Jayasiemi seems to be a carbon copy. Graham sadly looks to be similarly fated.

Well looking him up. a good player, not that old but again, career finished far too early due to injuries, but at least he joined Os on a short term contract so not that costly. Jayasiemi according to ''Thor'' and his Charlton contacts was also a strange signing but again Richie gave him a good rating based on having him play for him before. Look I know from playing myself and running my own teams, like it or not, if you are not fully fit then does not matter what you did in the past, if you are not fit enough to play for 100% for 90 minutes, then not worth taking gambles on signing. so no point dwelling on what you did a couple of seasons ago. Serious injures finish the careers of many good players, happened to me as well.

Another name for you to focus on, especially given his recent injury. 😂😂😂

Players can get injured at any time, thats something that happens in football, that is a lot different to as redintheface wrote '' the club has a propensity to sign players who have experienced injury issues for the simple reason they come more cheaply than others''

It's a gamble, some pay off, some don't. We throw the dice and hope it lands on six.
