Your question was asked Thor 😁 Yes BB, the question posed by Thor was indeed asked and I thought answered in a rather dismissive way by Richie. Surprising given that RW himself has commented on the same subject more than once in the recent past. Overall I didn’t think it was one of the better interviews I’ve heard on the podcast. Obviously when someone like RW is prepared to give of their own time one has to be mindful of that and respectful of their position but there was a bit too much cap doffing imho. Nevertheless an interesting listen.👍

One thing about Ritchie,he swears by Kelman Boy does he, though wonder if its more about Richie's man management than anything else. For me it's felt over the last month or so that Richie has been a little more cautious in what he says and more supportive of the players when being recorded. Which is totally understandable when things aren't going our way at the moment.

Sounded to me as if Clare is currently unavailable.

Sounded to me as if Clare is currently unavailable. Not according to RW on the LOFC website. Apart from Archibald obviously, he says the only question mark is against Galbraith.

We always seem to lose the gooduns to injury, then they are never quite the same.

Thought his comments about Galbraith were interesting, in that we have an option for another year, if he doesn’t extend his contract.

Always comes back to the old adage about not keeping an unsettled player I guess. Obviously the year option protects us financially to some degree but the ideal scenario would be Galbraith signing a new extended deal.

Yes, I must have misunderstood RW in the podcast, there's no mention of any problem with Clare in RW's pre-Northampton comments.

Listened to the interview. Love RW and really happy he is with us
But
My bulls*** meter was doing overtime. Not his finest. Lost some of his enthusiasm and fun too.
And he don’t agree we move the ball too slow !!!! He has said as much himself in the past. Good question and he didn’t like it.

Certainly dodged that question.very dismissive over it Pretty unhappy on the way he dodged that question. We all know he has made similar comments before, it was a reasonable, in fact very good question and fair play to the hosts for asking it. The real answer I feel is unpalatable. He has made similar comments in the past, but the players don’t seem to respond. The question is why don’t they. what is he doing about it. I’d like to know for sure. It clearly annoys him. It sure as hell hacks off us fans. Yet it doesn’t change. There is an issue there somewhere and we all know it. So does RW. So he dismissed the question. Dismissing it the way he did don’t make the question any less valid.

The real answer is probably that the players aren’t quite good enough to play at the pace that Richie would like, but he’s hardly going to say that is he?

The real answer is probably that the players aren’t quite good enough to play at the pace that Richie would like, but he’s hardly going to say that is he? Is it just that though? At times our tempo is good and the play flows well, at others it drops alarmingly as players take three or four touches before laying the ball off square or backwards and play stagnates. I think the ability is there but maybe not the confidence or even the fitness to maintain an up tempo game over a sustained period. No easy answer and perhaps that’s why Richie gave the question short shrift in the interview?

The real answer is probably that the players aren’t quite good enough to play at the pace that Richie would like, but he’s hardly going to say that is he? I’ve yet to be astounded by the quality of play in league 1 this season by many teams, not up to the preseason rhetoric that’s for damn sure. Our main players are no worse than others overall. Yet our play, moving the ball forward is diabolical compared to some. Not convinced it’s a question of footballing ability. Quality of mindset I can well believe. To quote one example, a throw for us level with the opposition penalty area ends up being passed all the way back to our keeper. That is mindset.

We play at pace we are an excellent League 1 team, crabbing about at the back with the ball even with attacking play gives any defence time to get into their best defensive format.

Someone said he probably didn't want to be speaking against the players, I get that. But he says it himself in interviews about playing backwards instead of forwards for example. So you tell me what's the difference?
