Whilst recognising that nothing is a certainty, I think it’s fair to say the majority of Os fans would anticipate a favourable result at Boreham Wood in Sunday’s FA Cup tie. Given the recent slide in League form though, I guess it’s also fair to say the game has a bit extra riding on it in terms of Richie Wellens longer term status as HC at the club? If the unthinkable happens and we don’t manage to progress to Round 2 of the competition will the Board be prepared to remain patient and if so for how long should that degree of patience last? Interested to hear thoughts from you guys.👍

Redintheface is reading this game correctly in my opinion.
It’s taken on far more significance than just a tricky away tie. We desperately need a win, we desperately need the excitement of a possible favourable round 2 draw and with it the prospect of an attractive round 3 game. We need a boost , we need the prospect of something good looking forward. This is the chance of just that.
Defeat will be a disaster. Our morale already looks fragile, we don’t want it smashed to bits.
We will win.

Richie will not be sacked. He will take us to the championship in time. We are going through a rough patch, it had to happen at some point. I think personally Ling and Foster need to go before Richie.
Finally we will not be paying up £500k to sack him, it ain't happening.
Back the manager and back the team.
Jack Payne plays for Boreham Wood.

Thing is now RW has been given a new contract, with money to tight to mention, the club could barely afford to get rid of him, wonder if they have fully paid off KJ and his assistant yet, not to speak of the 29 day Carl Fletcher debacle !

It was about a Southampton supporter ,an older gentleman who fell down steps and was injured so badly he asked to have his respirator turned off and died which was his wish.

Feeling safe at sporting events is paramount.I've always felt safe even when we had big crowds in the standing days. Getting to round three in the cup? Why not. A win on sunday,a easy draw at home round 2. A springboard for league morale and possible money for good wages for a decent striker in January.

Bearing in mind our home form, you might like to amend that to an easy draw away 😉

Going back to the original question, I don’t think it’s vital, as I feel Ritchie has goodwill in spades with the board and they will be willing to stick with him. A win this Sunday would be good for morale and of course if we could get extra bunce through a decent draw or tv appearances, then it gives more flexibility to the January window.

I think you are probably on the right track den. The current financial issues at the club might well have a significant bearing on the timing of any actions the Board see fit to take. Hopefully a decisive win on Sunday will not only put us in Round Two but also be the start of an upswing in results generally.

It was just a thread to post the comment on as I did not think it needed a thread of its own.Orient was positive in the action it took for safety of our stadium.

I don't even use the guiderails. I just run up and down balancing the bovril on my head and juggling the pies as I go. I'm too nimble too quick.

A win this Sunday would be good for morale and of course if we could get extra bunce through a decent draw or tv appearances, then it gives more flexibility to the January window. My take on the original post was his position “longer term”. If we lose would he be sacked? Very much doubt it for a variety of reasons. And I didn’t read the OP that way. But we are in a precarious position without doubt and a defeat to a NLS side will hardly be a springboard for an upturn in results, which could eventually lead to change. Frankly it has too or relegation will happen. So I believe redintheface was looking at the game from the wider perspective of a single result. I make him right. This game has more significance that win/lose but definitely does have a bearing on Richie’s reputation and ability to turn things around. Big game.
