Is Progress In The FA Cup Vital?

Do we really underestimate just how negative and poor we are and have been all season bar a few brief, positive, spells.  All this talk of playing well and not getting the results we deserve has been nonsense from day 1.  Propaganda. We need to stop kidding ourselves.  Pretty passing at the back but with no punch don’t do it other than to create delusion.

League 1 has not been this great division talked about at length by the club. It’s been bang average. Yet we sit 5th from bottom now sweating a game against a NLS team. Shocks happen every year, been a few in round 1 already.  But in truth this is  game we really should win.  And will win.  If our team turn up!

Me neither. But I live in hope.  We have a decent core group of players, thin in reserve, but the quality is on par with much of what in on display in league 1. We just need to find a system that works.  Over to you Mr Wellens.

Thats the issue Buffalobill.  I think we all know we have a decent core group of players who on their day can match most teams in what is an average league 1. But they don’t often enough. Frustrating. As a collective I don’t think we are playing to a standard that the individuals are capable of. A group of individuals not a team.

A mystery! But not really. On rare occasions we play fast, free flowing, good football. The talent is there. We look good. We don’t have an issue with the quality of football the core group are capable of. But mentally they just don’t seem able to do it often enough. Can’t play attacking football without players getting into decent positions. Hence why all too often we go backwards.  Not always the player on the ball but those off the ball. 

we are far better than our league position suggests.  Our core group is decent enough, but too many on the fringe are just not, yet. Lose a couple of core players and it falls apart.
