Ah Vegas! I liked to go there, l got married at the "Little Church of the Desert" in nineteen ninety something. I've forgotten the date but I'll never forget ol' wotsername. I only ever saw one MLB game and that was at the Oakland A's, the stadium facilities put the UK footy stadiums (stadia?) to shame. Bloody hell, same here. Many years ago. But I still have the A’s green cap, though tend to wear it when painting. Like me, it’s looking a big ragged now. l bought a cap at a local flea market in Oakland, it had an 'A' on it so l thought ... Turns out to be a California Angels cap. HooNoo? |

An absolute hero of mine Derek,those Ashes series with him bowling.I was working late on a staircase on an away job in Gloucester when he took all those wickets after heavy rainfall. I heard the commentator,some nice stories were told.s talking about Derek on the live stream of the Essex v Kent match. |

"deadly" Underwood's career was effectively ended by the rule book changes which required pitches to be covered at the first sign of rain. That took away the "drying glue pot" pitches which held spin even at slow-medium paced bowling.
He was still very accurate and could bowl all day but people like Viv Richards knew Derek couldn't turn a ball at his pace and he was hit all over the park.

Dickey Betts has passed away. Lead Guitarist for the Allman Brothers Band, and writer of hit songs “Ramblin Man” “Jessica”(later used in modified form as the Top Gear theme) and “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” among others. He was incredibly influential on other musicians in southern rock, jazz guitar, and country music. If there is a heaven, and it’s like they say it is, then I hope to have tickets to his show.
