Yeah brilliant, thanks for posting them. That DC-10, have you checked the rear cargo door, they have been known to fall off. Tupolev. I've been on a few 154's, one was a near miss with a BA Tristar over Kent around 1990, I got on the news. I think I might of mentioned it before. Were/are you connected to in any way to BCal then BA? I feel like I'm on that programme 'Through the Keyhole'. I don't live in Suffolk, I just use FR24 a lot. Basildon, hence Bas. I remember that, a BA Tristar and a Bulgarian Tupolev nearly collided over Lydd in 1988 I think. I don’t work for BA or have any connection with them apart from flying with them when I had a proper job. I even did Concorde as well (look at me) and kept all the goodies they gave me. I've also been on Concorde, the one at Duxford, the in-flight service was atrocious. Lydd, yeah, I'll always remember Lydd. We were coming back from a skiing trip in Borovets (Sofia-Gatwick). I'm looking out of the starboard and just behind the wing window when suddenly a dark shadow swept across the wing, I turned to my mate and said something big has just gone over us. As we looked through the window there were 2 horizontal lines (like hammers away shirt) which were perfectly formed (straight edged) about 5 foot away (it seemed) which got less and less perfect until they disappeared. Interviewed on 6 o'clock News, become famous down our street and at work, got phone calls from relatives etc. Got asked to go on the Kilroy Silk TV show (I think it was) but I declined. A few people from the port side of the plane who say they saw the Tristar went on it. Neat planes those 154's, one of my favourites, you wanna get one, 80's Balkan livery is the best IMO. Tristar also one of my favs but in court line (Halcyon Days) livery (Benidorm 1973). I also saw a 2 seater acrobatic plane fatal crash in front of me (? 150 yards) at a Lakenheath air show in the 80's. Didn't pull up in time after doing a loop. Sorry about the last line, I wasn't sure I should mention it but I thought on the off chance you might of seen that as well.

I love the forties turbo props Bas,that was how we used to draw them at school. The double wingers face on were easy,I used to draw dog fights with them. Spent many a day at North Weald watching the RAF jets,I think they were Canberas. Not sure of the names though.Love the names of fighter planes and warships.A favourite is HMS Hood which had such a tragic end.
In June 1978, Locomotive 50031 was named Hood after HMS Hood, the Royal Navy’s last battle cruiser. Commissioned in 1920, HMS Hood was sunk by the German battleship Bismarck on 24 May 1941. 50031 was withdrawn from service by BR on 5th August 1991.

You do realise this is Government surveillance of the Londoners travelling to Cornwall rather than overseeing the G7? Jethro has coughed up a million to cover the costs to help ensure Cornwall's independence.

I have loads both military and civil. Guess you must be in the Suffolk area if you mention Mildenhall. I have a weather station so that might be the temperature and not the time. Massive regret of mine not travelling on Concorde when the opportunity was there. But you think the opportunity will always be there. Fantastic plane. Spent a lot of time in a Heathrow hotel, looked out of the window, there was Concorde. Never tired of watching it go, noise and all. gutted when it ceased operating.

Click to enlarge This is from a Balkan TU 154 (I think) in the Lambourne stack above Hainault estate. Bottom slight left is Chigwell Row Water Works. Bottom to top on the right is Grange Hill, Hainault and Fairlop Stations. Middle and slightly to 1 o'clock is Fairlop Waters. Blocked by the engine is Hainault lake. This might be of interest to redshank. That forest part just up a bit from the Water Works, when I was a kid I thought monkeys lived in there.

Maybe of interest to some of you. I've been tracking our Governments Airbus KC2 Voyager (A330) since 5 hours ago. It's been circling at about 40-60 miles at 25,000 feet off the coast of Cornwall, roughly from Newquay to Penzance escorted by a couple of Typhoon fighters and a Coast guard helicopter and plane. One of the fighter planes is USAF I'm guessing Biden is in the plane amongst who knows who else. Secret talks out of hear shot I'm guessing. Well it looks like the sole An-225 has been destroyed in the Ukraine. It was the largest aircraft in the world until the Russians blew it up (according to reports).

That crossed my mind about the the safety of the Antonov factory, especially the 225. I was thinking that they should fly their planes to somewhere safe. I thought it, why didn't they? Strange.
I was hoping to see it one day (the plane, not the factory). I've seen it's smaller brothers go over a few times, always a buzz.
If I clock one on my computer I run upstairs and grab my binoculars. I'm as gutted as you no doubt are.
Putin was probably jealous that they had a bigger one than him.

Under normally circumstances quite a few Antonov cargo planes (mostly Ukrainian) fly into the U.K. The noise of the An-12 is quite distinctive, it’s very loud. You can hear it from miles off and still minutes after it’s gone over.

I was in Kyiv a few years ago. There is a most incredible aviation museum on an old airfield which has just about every type of old Soviet passenger plane and helicopters too. You can walk all around them and under them and some you can go aboard and see the cockpit etc. It was quite wonderful I hope it survives somehow.

Similar to what the 225 was designed for, in the 80's a bunch of us went to a hill near Stansted to watch a space shuttle piggy backed onto a 747 circle and land.
Antonov tweeted earlier that they don't yet know the extent of the damage.
If it is a write off they are gonna miss it greatly, as you know it carried cargo that other planes couldn't.

I don't suppose any westerners will be hitching a lift up to the Space Station any time soon.
