I read that the government knew that the planes software is hackable, that someone could potentially take control of the jet fighter and they did nothing about it. If true that's a serious issue and concern.
OSC has that been discussed in your news?

If it was me that just got launched at high speed by a rocket under me bum from my normally doesn't crash plane,
I think the last thing on my mind would be looking to see where the plane went.
Yeah, course I'm interested. š

Read today that we are going to build new fighter planes in Britain with a joint operation with Italy and Japan. We have built some wonderful fighter planes in the past and some that the government stopped due to cost. But the planes we purchased would have been cheaper if we had followed the project through. I believe the plane was the TSR 2,also remember the blue streak rocket being cancelled.I am ready to be corrected however.

The government wonāt admit to that kind of technical vulnerability. Today, however, NBC news has reported that a watchdog group has found that the F-35 of all varieties are only mission ready 55% of the time. I think thatās probably accurate and very telling.

Yeah, course I'm interested.Ā š We are finding out today that numerous people saw the plane inverted, and the pilot parachuted into the back yard of a family. The 911 emergency call has been reported. The 911 operator is baffled at what sheās being told. She does her best through the call, in fairness to her. The resident says effectively, I guess we have a pilot who landed in my backyard. Please send an ambulance. You can hear the pilot talking in the background. He then addresses the 911 operator directly. Of note, heās 47, which likely means a very senior and/or Reserves. Itās all surreal and worth the listen. Nbcnews.com

Reminds me of 'Battle of Britain' film where the British parachutist after bailing out landed on the greenhouse. I think the kid who witnessed it ran back into the house and got him a cigarette.

This is an interesting article. I donāt know if we will get the answer, but those are certainly important questions. The reference to Popular Mechanics made me a little nostalgic. I havenāt read it in years, but I read it a lot when I was young. My apologies for the tangent, but it brought back a lot of memories and I hope you donāt mind. My grandad lived down the street from us when I was a kid, and he picked me up from school every day when I was Junior High here. (Ages 11-13). I would stay with him until my parents got home four or five hours later. He was the most influential person in my life. He was a retired fleet mechanic for a trucking company and from the old school. WW2 Navy Pacific Theater man who started the first Boy Scouts troop in the Upstate. First man in my hometown to drink an imported beer it was said. No college or anything like that, but he was very smart. I was at his house the day the Challenger accident happened, and although he didnāt talk much, that day he fully explained what he thought happened and it turned out that he wasnāt far off with his thoughts. He had a little shop in his back yard, and he constantly had things he was working on. Car parts, lawnmowers, radios, that kind of thing. He also had a library of Popular Mechanics magazine that I would often read cover to cover. I didnāt always comprehend what I read, but it was fun trying to understand. His other collection was of a hot rod magazine, which featured American muscle cars, and bikini models exhibiting the features. That magazine I completely understood. š Anyway, I think Iāll meander over to the Popular Mechanics website and see what they are doing these days.

Lots of activity over the Black Sea today, at least four American and British intelligence aircraft in the area, with a NATO awacs aircraft getting a bit close to Russian occupied Crimea. Somethingās going on.

Yes thats correct a force of 90k troops it's the biggest exercise Nato has undertaken. What's a worry is the Nato boss has said prepare for a war with Russia within 20 years.

This training mission and war rhetoric is not really a top story here, but I have kept up with it a little for the last month or so. The admiral from NATO called it a potential āall out war.ā Iām not correcting Thor, Iām just emphasizing the phrasing. President used similar language recently. I know this language is messaging towards Russia, but I worry that there is an idea among the elites that this will be WW2 style tank warfare. All out war between NATO and Russia would be a twenty minute nuclear exchange. I hope the people making these decisions are as smart as we hope they are, but history warns us to be worried. A wise man once said that war is a racket, and I think that is true. I used to think it was cynical and awful, but in this case I hope itās true and that this is plain puffery for profits.

Itās in Norway and was probably planned before the Russians invaded the Ukraine and besides Russian observers would have been invited if my understanding is correct. That awacs plane disappeared from the screen a few moments after I posted it. I tend to think it was a technical glitch as it wouldnāt have got that close to an active war zone.
