I can get into any sport during the Olympics but not particularly football or tennis, or the USA at basketball. USA basketball in the Olympics is taking the p*ss IMO.
I mainly like the things we're good at.

The last person standing will win the gold. Chinese most likely. Covid, a ploy to make sure they come first.

Yeah some events need to start earlier than the opening ceremony to fit them all in.
Remember that from 2012.

Even Greco-Roman wrestling? I think this does not pique my interest.

Synchronised Swimming is another fatuous sporting exercise, as is Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Team GB is looking at 45-70 medals with no individual sport targets. I’d say we’re no longer the power house in cycling as we have been in recent years but are an emerging force in gymnastics. Possibly expect more (from a low base) in swimming. COVID will be the big winner this year and expect the Chinese to top the medal table with Team GB third.
The Russians as a team are banned from this year’s Olympics due to drug cheating but can compete as individuals if proved clean.

Do they also run an Olympic table where medals won are divided by athletes attending?
Always grates me that US and China top the tables but send the most athletes.

The opening ceremony is very subdued. The Hosts doing their best but very flat. Shame.

A new sport for the 2024 Olympics is……wait for it………CHEERLEADING 🤦 The Olympic Games for me are all about inclusion. Games is the keyword, not sport. If that means including activities that only loosely can be described as sport, what’s the problem. I’d certInly have no issue with snooker, darts and the like being included. Why not. Other activities, like fishing, may not be practical. Bring the world together, include activities where countries have a chance to compete. Let all sorts of peoples get involved. It’s what makes the games so special.

China and Russia should have their own Olympics, preferably on the Moon.
