Why controversial Thor? I wasn’t a fan Thought he was liked on a wider base of our supporters than people like me who didn’t rate him. 👍🏾

Ben Garner has emerged as the hot favourite to be annnounced as Colchester United boss. Appointment by Wednesday apparently.👍 my mate at Charlton (player) said to me he was doomed to fail from the start. I asked why and he said a squad was formed to play direct football, yet here we were employing a manager who played possession based football without players who could accomplish what he wanted. Either they change the players or give him time to evolve the squad to match what he wanted. He got neither and was sacked, after my conversation not unexpected. Robinson also failed at Charlton.

Your mate at Charlton will know my younger cousin Tyrell Thomas who signed for them earlier this season.

I find that comment hugely interesting. Some teams are good. Some manager are good. But the trick is the synergy between them. When Davies took over at Orient I always felt his style of play was good but just didn’t fit the team we had. JE took the same bunch and made them Champions. The players didn’t suddenly improve. The playing style suited them. Such a synergy isn’t limited to football. And is probably very difficult to get right. Ultimately change the team or the manager RW is the right man for us and our squad yet it didn’t work out for him elsewhere. Same for JE. Get it right and anything is possible. The reverse is equally true.

Clubs rely on their board members to understand that when picking a new gaffer. l have no idea what went wrong when we picked that chap from Bournemouth.

He is doing Ok in his role as in charge of recruiting for Colchester but he is not and never will be a manager/coach. Nice guy and all that but never manager material and I think he knows that. He never wanted the Orient manager job or recently the Colchester manager/coach job. He has the sense to realise many get promoted to posts beyond their capabilities and will be happy to stay in a supporting post

He’s doing OK at Colchester in the recruitment job and that’s where his qualities can be utilised .

He is a decent number 2 Justin spome highly of him in that role. After Orient he has has to rebuild himself by getting back in the game and from here on in its on his own merits.

Sorry Thor but there is No evidence to support your believe that he is a good coach. Nice bloke everybody says and supports him and I am sure JE and all spoke highly of him as a person but he is not and was not a “good coach”.

Maybe they lied to you out of support for a friend, maybe they were mistaken. Who knows but I will change my mind when there is evidence that Ross was a good coach/manager. The proof of the pudding…….
