I remember somewhere from the back of my brain that in the long past before the new stands Brisbane Road held the record for the widest pitch and the largest communal bath in league football. The Orient pitch is currently 80 yards wide whilst Charltons is only 73 yards wide. Just an update to my previous post . Turns out that the 0’s still have the largest pitch out of all the English professional clubs ground ! With thanks to the fun trivia website. “The largest pitch in the English Football League (72 clubs) is Leyton Orient at 9200 sq yds and the smallest is Crewe Alexandra and Wigan Athletic at 6600 sq yds.” 115 x 80 9200 Leyton Orient 115 x 78 8970 Nottingham Forest 117 x 76 8892 Leeds United 115 x 77 8855 Shrewsbury Town 114 x 77 8778 Port Vale 115 x 76 8740 Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town 112 x 78 8736 Oxford United 113 x 77 8701 Hartlepool United 114 x 76 8664 Rochdale, Notts County 115 x 75 8625 Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday, Wycombe Wanderers Top of the league again. We really did pick the best team after all.

I always reckon that playing Crewe meant a completely different game was needed. Never a moment to rest, it looks like 30 players on the pitch and very little open flowing footy.

Burnley have just sold 29 year old Will Norris to Portsmouth. He is a proven goalkeeper, who helped them to Premier League promotion so what would be the rationale why they would they want another 29 year old goalkeeper who is unproven at this level ? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65902841

Get a selling fee, reduce wages, replace one keeper who appeared a couple of times over the years at the club and loaned out with an equivalent. Vigs can sit on the bench as well as anyone. Not saying that’s the case but is a solid idea. edit. Just looked it up and he was released. So I guess Burnley just didn’t rate him. My guess is Vigs is better. Makes sense.

Not many opposition goalkeepers looked second rate last season,we could have had more wins if they weren't so good. Vigs was something else and I am pleased he stayed with us until we were champions.

Its just that this guy was sent on loan to Peterboro and played every game thereafter and must have been good as they missed promotion to the Championship by a whisker.

"only held initial talks"... Sounds like we've been beating ourselves up over not very much. I guess Burnley may have had initial talks with dozens of players. They have a classy No 1 keeper already.

If they make him an offer he will go. Ever third choice his wages will dwarf what he can get in East London and at 29 it’s a too good an opportunity to turn down. Probably get loaned out somewhere to play his football. Our only hope is that Burnley don’t want him and other bigger clubs don’t swoop. Personally I hope he gets a good deal somewhere for him and his family. He’s paid his dues with us and it would be less than charitable to want him to miss out for our benefit. However, should he decide he wants to stay with us, then I’ll be delighted.

News Now are reporting that Burnley and Vigs are in "advanced talks". How much money would it take to lure Vigs to sit on the bench opposed to playing first team football with us?

£15k - £20k a week I'd guess.
I would imagine he's been offered £5k a week here. £8k at Charlton.

If most of us were offered a job that will have at least trebled our wages (whether its Charlton, Burnley or whoever) we'd have handed in our notice weeks ago. Whats the holdup, doesn't the new house have a view of the Sydney Opera House ?

Whats the holdup, doesn't the new house have a view of the Sydney Opera House ? Rumours only that he has completed his medical at Burnley on a 2 year deal. rumour so who really knows. But if true I wish him the best, probably not first choice but even on the bench he will be earning shed loads more than with us. Good luck to him, I hope it’s true. He deserves it

Gone According to the other board . Probably saw the same social media post as me. Remains a rumour until an official announcement. Nothing on the Burnley site when I looked a while ago, though by their standards not an earth shattering moment so it will get a mention in due course.

I can give you an update on what I know.
Vigs was in with Holden about three weeks ago who has made it very clear he wants him to sign for Charlton. Holden thinks he has a good chance of getting him. Now with Burnley he would be probably 3rd choice there, but he does suit their style of play, the comment tonight was he would get £10-15k for that role, and if he had a good agent they’d squeeze £20k a week. I said 2 years of doing that and before I could finish he said then a job in the champ. Charlton still think they are in with a chance, but money talks….
