Been told tonight that he was at Charlton and is going to sign for them. This has come from a coach in the academy. He has been asked to verify the situation, but someone on here said he didnt want to move and to me its feasible on that basis.
As soon as I get more, I will post it up, hopefully he got Sargent and Vigs mixed up!

He does, his nephew plays for them.
My mate who is there is on hols with his family so I'm loathe to ask him till he returns next week.
I will wait to hear back from the coach, if Mrb could ask Terrell Thomas if he's heard anything that would be great.

If Vigs leaves he will be a very difficult act to follow this i suppose is the price we may have to pay for our success.Whoever doesn't renew their contracts and I hope everyone stays I'll be peed off but that's football as Dohnut has said it's a short career and you can't blame any player for chasing the money

Vigoroux was flattered by having a sound defence in front of him. He is a decent goalkeeper but compared with the likes of Jackson , Goddard and others was in my view not the bravest of keepers. On many occasions when the ball was bouncing about in the six yard box he was reluctant to dive down aamong the players to get it. Will not be missed nowhere near as much as el mazouni or smyth

As a shot stopper, Sarge was pretty good. But he made me nervous and I wasn’t playing. It’s very much a working together relationship as I see it.

This would be surprising as it could only be for the money, Charlton are a mess of a football club. They currently have 4 goalkeepers and only the 3rd choice Harkness has been released. The first choice being Woollcott a Ghanaian international. Why would Vigs go there ? Makes no sense.

Just saw on the other place that Vigs is actually away on his honeymoon (confirmed by others) so I expect he is well on top of the situation !

Unfortunately Charlton would seem like a logical step up where Vigs is probably still guaranteed 1st team football at a bigger club on a bigger salary and still remains local for family reasons.
Pains me to say it because I'd like him to stay, but I feel this could happen.

I think they've had a new owner go in this week so probably looking like a clear out and getting their own players in. That said, yep, I agree the club is in a state and will take a year or two to sort it out. And that's assuming the new owners are any better than the last. And the new owners have a history a ballsing it all up at Sunderland.

Charlton have signed many players from us over the years, I cant remember a single player proving to be a good signing for them

Happy to wait and see. It’s the rumour time of the year and all sorts of stuff will be coming out. People making 50 predictions, 1 turns out right, followed by oooooh look at me.
I’ve accepted we have a few players who may be good enough to move up. Happy with that, it’s why we ran away with league 2. Better that than a bunch of lesser players who nobody wants. Leave it to RW and ML. A pairing we’ve not had as good since JE. Relax. RW knows exactly the type of player we need and it could well be people we don’t know much about. El Miz, Turns. Never heard of either but they worked out OK.

Yeah I'm quite chilled about it all.
We're in very good hands and that means more than a player or two leaving.

I think Vigs is a brilliant shot stopper with very safe hands.I hope he stays, but I saw many goalkeepers last season who were both good stoppers and good distributers to their own team mates.Good distribution from a goalkeeper is more than important,in my opinion one of the good things Vigs lacks. With the kind of players we had, better ball distribution from the keeper would have put us in a better position in most matches. Not a criticism of Vigs, that would be a harsh thing seeing how good he has been, but would like his distribution to be much better. I used to watch him on matchdays when they had the pre-game kickabout,he was constantly fed the ball to kick long upfield to a coach who was standing there, almost every kick landed on target, but during the match it was not that good.

Both in a era of financial instability at the club. Whether they were good signings I wouldn't know. The young Harry Gregory was a favourite of mine in that era. Came up via the reserves and youth teams, non stop worker and trier with no little skill, always gave it everything he had. I was really sad when he left just when he was starting to get really good !
