The women's team travelled to west London and took three points from the favourites 'Comets' (they were favourites until yesterday anyway) and now sit perfectly placed in the Greater London Women's Premier League with the best point-per-game record and the lowest points-dropped figures. The silence coming from the club can't hide the excitement bubbling underneath about how well these players are doing. Check out just how well they've done so far at lofcwomen.com/items/231219.htmlThey could just do it y'know! Warming up before taking on Comets.

Having scraped together as many movie clips as can be found, a new compilation video (15 minutes long) has been posted on the LOFCwomen.com YouTube channel.
The idea is to introduce people to the women's team by putting together a year-in-review video showing what they do, how much fun it is and how it all works. The hope is that it will inspire more people to engage with the team, encourage good players to want to come to the Os and say thank you to the current players and staff for their magnificent effort and selfless motivation throughout the past year.
The second half of this season could be the most exciting yet!
Fill yer boots - a big-ish screen is probably best.

Probably as a result of some phrenetic phone calls whizzing around the capital, the long awaited match-up between Tooting Bec, the Premier League leaders from South London and Leyton Orient, the rising power in the east - has been arranged THIS SUNDAY, 7 January 2024 at the Myrak football ground in Buckhurst Hill. The kick-off is at 2pm.There's no snow and almost no rain forecast between then and now and the temperatures are likely to remain above zero - just! Let's hope these two strong premiership teams get the chance to get it on. This women's team are on the right track to win their league for the 3rd year in succession, there's a way to go yet but we're in a great position. Under 18 girls hit ten at Kew Park Rangers. Midweek training focus (in a torrential downpour) on defence gets a clean sheet on Saturday.
Comments from the coaching staff and a match report now posted at lofcwomen.com
Look at that rain, there's some real dedication going on there.

Fisch has any of the younger players managed to get in the first team yet?

As far as l know, Sophie Tabor and Lily Hughes are U18 regulars but do get games in the first team. Both came on as subs in that recent massive away win at Comets. There are probably others.

That’s good, a pathway to achieve.

That’s good, a pathway to achieve. Yes and no.... The higher up the leagues the first team gets, the more difficult it will be step into that team after a player's 18th birthday. Many clubs have a 'B' team playing at a lower level in the women's hierarchy which provides a place to play and, if good enough, a stepping stone to the first team. We don't have a 'B' team ... not yet anyway.

Sunday's Greater London Women's Premiership results, table and analysis now available on lofcwomen.com
With cup games coming up next for the senior women's team and having played three games fewer than all the clubs around us in the league, there's an element of unintended "end-loading" of the league season taking shape. On one hand, Comets and Richmond have both dropped nine points, Tooting have dropped ten - whereas the Orient stars have dropped just five. Clearly the potential is there for the ladies to win these games in hand and thus overhaul the rest. "Win" being the key word here. Doubtless the other front runners will be hoping the O's slip up over the coming weeks. If you want competitive football and enjoy being under pressure whilst putting your opponents under the same pressure, the GLWFL Premier league is the place to be.

LIVE Match updates for Sunday 14th January 2024 Leyton Orient Vs Hounslow Utd Go to: lofcwomen.com/items/240114Joanna Roman takes the keeper's glove for today's League Cup encounter with Hounslow Utd, a team from the Greater London Womens Football League Division one (south). That aside, this is a full strength Orient ladies team with the top four goal scorers in Feldman, Bates, Almeida and Pearce all in the starting line-up. Hunt and Citate-Samuriwo are regular goal contributors so it looks like an aggressive line-up. Niamh Carty is included in the sub's list after her three assists last time out at the top-of-the table clash with Comets, we believe it was her debut for the Os. On paper, it looks like a tough afternoon for the west Londoners. lofcwomen.com man-with-a-camera (Larry-O) will be at today's game so we hope to see some good shots of our girls doing their stuff!
