Final score was 1:1 We finish third on 36 points, the same as Comets but they have a better GD. Richmond finished top with 40 points.

That's the end of a fine battling season, we finished 3rd on GD after a 1:1 home draw against Tooting Bec. Next Saturday, the U18 girls take centre stage as they try for the JPL title. There's a brief report, final table and season results at lofcwomen.com/items/240506.html Hannah Jenks nearly got the winner but her late shot just cleared the bar. .

Nice one Fisch.
Interesting we beat the top two home and away but still finished third having lost to teams in the bottom half.
Can we 'apply' for promotion? Or is that it?

Nice one Fisch. Interesting we beat the top two home and away but still finished third having lost to teams in the bottom half. Can we 'apply' for promotion? Or is that it? 2 years ago we finished 3rd in Div 2 (tier 9) but got promoted as the GLWFL expanded and needed more teams to fill Div One. Last year we finished clear top of Div One (tier 8) and applied for a vacant position at tier 6. I don't know how we justified it but we were refused and so we entered the Prem Division (tier 7) where we are now. If vacancies arise higher up the league (mostly happens when a team goes broke) then we would've stood a chance if we finished 2nd but logic dictates that our 3rd place finish means we're not in with a shout. I notice our old side, now named "Seawards" who play at tier 4 are advertising like mad for sponsors and investors. I wonder what possibilities may arise if they are not successful.

This Saturday, the last of the JPL season, it will be the turn of the under 18 girl's side to take centre stage as they play a double header against 2nd placed Haringey. With a perfect 12 wins from 12, the O's starlets need a draw from either game to put the title beyond the reach of the north London side. Haringey have also played 12, they have won 10, drawn 2. Their recent form however has been fearsome, they've scored over 5 goals per game on average. This will be the clash of the titans as both chase the silverware. All the details and how-to-get-there can be seen at lofcwomen.com/items/240509.html Haringey youngsters preparing for the biggest match of their careers.

Orient's under 18 girls lost out in today's double header at Haringey, going down 6:1 and 4:0 on the final Saturday. Sadly, despite winning all the earlier games, we finished 2nd in the league title by just two points. It sounds like we encountered a top class side today. They are well established and feed a certain north London WSL team so I'm told.
All in all, it's been a great season.
