Fisch as the subject matter expert how does the promotion work?
The table suggests 1 team promoted, which seems a bit restrictive in my opinion. Are there other positions to be promoted? Maybe based on facilities etc?

Fisch as the subject matter expert how does the promotion work? The table suggests 1 team promoted, which seems a bit restrictive in my opinion. Are there other positions to be promoted? Maybe based on facilities etc? Yep, just one goes up but two go down. That means that only one comes down from the National leagues but two come up from the GLWFL, one from GLWFL Div 1 - North (That'll be Brentford) and the other from GLWFL Div 1 South (South London Firsts). Sometimes however, if a club further up the food chain either folds or wishes to escape the crippling travel and other costs by relegating itself to a nearby regional league, then more than one promotion can happen - hence it's vital we secure 2nd place in order to be in the best position to take advantage if that happens. Our under 18s play in a league that covers Greater London, Essex, Kent and both Sussex's. It ain't cheap to play in that league.

I asked my club to apply to put my team into the JPL as we have all the top facilities, but we wouldn't get accepted as apparently you need to field teams across all the age ranges and as I was the only one I was told sorry no can do. You are correct about the travelling, but I was prepared to do it to play better opposition.

Earlier this season I intended to cover the u18 girls' games but it soon became clear that a shadowy old foreign bloke has no business doing that so I took the advice and stopped. However l did contact Chatham, Kings Hill, Worthing and others in the JPL blue U18s league and was astounded how big these clubs are. Some have 30-40 teams with coaches, kit, admin, media people, marketers and huge facilities... the whole works. There's a lot of money sloshing about.

I believe it's the biggest in the South East.

Your Saturday Orient fix:
Follow our unbeaten under-18 girls as they battle it out today (Sat 4th May) with 2nd placed Kings Hill at Loughton (10am).
A win would leave them one point shy of the title with two games left.
