30 mins to kick off..... A few changes from last week's line-up: Layla-May Duffield drops to the bench whilst Hannah Jenks get's into the starting eleven having scored last week having come off the sub's bench. Shakira Waithe also drops to sub and top scorer Leanne Bates is not available. Jenks-Landen and Madeline Wright step up to fill those places. Tabor and Feldman are added to the bench to complete the line-up.

2-0 down at HT, sounds like we're heading for our first league loss since the 2021-22 season. That'll hurt!

Full-time: Leyton Orient 1-2 Headstone Manor The first league defeat since the 2021-22 season, that's going to take some accepting. We were P2 W2 before the game, they were bottom on P2 L2. Top goal scorer Leanne Bates was injured and last season's top scorer Jordan Feldman returned as a 2nd half sub but this was her first game of the season following an injury (and she scored our goal). We could've got away with it last year in Division One but even the bottom club in the Premier will make you pay. The ladies return to cup action next week away at Biggleswade. In the meantime, I'm gonna drown my sorrows.

A full match report match report vs Headstone Manor:
Headstone Manor Ladies made the trip to Buckhurst Hill in Essex on Sunday afternoon in search of their first league points of the season against a Leyton Orient side who had a strong start to the season with a 100% record. Manor had a few notable absentees from their squad which left them with no available substitues. Leyton Orient's Chairman Nigel Travis was in attendance having travelled over from his home in Boston - USA, Nigel was accompanied by Orient's Director of Football: Martin Ling, Martin has overall responsibility for all football matters at Leyton Orient including the women's teams. Leyton Orient started the game retaining possession well and looking to cause Manor problems in the early stages........... Read the full report and get the latest news at lofcwomen.com
Guess who came to watch the match at Buckhurst Hill....

Thanks Fisch for the updates on this game. The website is really coming along, and the write up was good. Sorry they lost, but Feldman seems like she’s getting back to speed. It’s good to see NT over with ML. I think the board is committed and it’s exciting for the women and the club.

It’s good to see NT over with ML. I think the board is committed and it’s exciting for the women and the club. Thanks for the vote of confidence orientsc but I must admit I'm struggling with the latest versions of HTML and CSS, much of my tried and tested coding has been "deprecated" and the new stuff is written in a strange nerd speak which I find quite alien. Strangely, I get far more info from the opposing teams than I do from our own people so I guess the project is still viewed with some suspicion. It's likely that it is seen as an attempt to get monetised or sneak in ads or cookies - none of which is being done. It was a great gesture that Nigel T arrived at the women's (and academy's) home ground so, as you say, there is the backing there, coach Danny Martin said as much on his X account. I have a few more bits and pieces to post tomorrow and Biggleswade (next Sunday's FA Cup opponents) have already send in a fact sheet. Onward and upwards (ish) as they say

Fisch keep banging that drum you are doing a great job and service. It's just you, whilst the club has a media team, yet news comes from a fan in a far away country.
It's time the club woke up!
My daughter loves football, is a season ticket holder despite never kicking a ball in her life and looks out for the women's team. She also loves F1 and I took a screen shot of a women test driver for Aston Martin - the first women driver in F1 since 2018 and she was over the moon. There is a market and its growing all the time. The club is backing women's and girls youth football we can see that from the teams we now have and there is a pathway, but and surely this is the big part - PROMOTE IT - let the people know what is happening, give them content and grow that base of interactive fans/people.
Lime I say keep plugging away and at some point the club have to pick up the baton.

Thanks Thor, I'll do my best. What would really help is if one of us goes to a game and makes a report, takes a few photos, talks to the players etc..... Anyone up for that?

Scouring the various social media platforms, here's a few comments made by people after the home loss to Headstone Manor..... Danny Martin - @facoachdan
The support this club gives us is incredible, then to have Nigel Travis and Martin Ling come to support us at one of our games was great and really appreciated. Not the result we wanted, but together until the end is something this squad applies daily. It was a game of two halves today.. the reaction we got in the second half from the players, we couldn't have asked for anything more, unlucky not to level it near the end. Best of luck to Headstone Manor Ladies for the rest of the season, safe journey home. @paulsfischer
Missing Leanne Bates Reply from Shona Citate: I’m away this weekend and unfortunately Leanne is injured 😔 Shona Shosho Citate
All smiles ahead of the game!☺️ (Thanks for the photos Shona! - Ed) But we are cheering the girls on, they got this! Insta @lofc_women
At full-time, it's LOFC Women 1:2 Headstone Manor. Better luck next time 🅾️'s! Insta offsidephotos
Go again next weekend 👍 Pic: Danny gives the HT team talk last Sunday. Nearly got level but fell just short. Coming tomorrow: Full pre-match view of next Sunday's FA Cup 2nd qualifying round away at Biggleswade.

I don't mind doing it now and then, as my kids team can kick off anywhere from 9am to 2.30pm so I'd work around that. Can't do it this week as we have a 2pm kick off! Let's see what the following week brings, but I'm up for it hopefully some others can do a bit as well? Orient Hour - Podcast guys Paul & Steve and the Lo Down guys fancy doing a bit??

Match preview vs Biggleswade Utd
Next up for the LOFC ladies is the 2nd qualifying round of the national Women's FA Cup to be played this coming Sunday: 1/10/2023 away at Biggleswade Utd, kick off at 2pm. Biggleswade play in the Eastern Region WFL Div 1 - North (Tier 6 of the FA women's pyramid - one tier above us) so, on paper at least, we start as underdogs although that was also the case against Cheshunt in the first round where we ran out 4:2 winners. We've been in touch with the folks at Biggleswade and they tell us ............. Read the full article at lofcwomen.com

No team can lose against a side called Biggleswade. It's literally impossible. Pretty sure it only exists in Just William books.

Adding to our match preview (see above), here's a preview video from the home head coach of Biggleswade United Women, Ashley Pead, looking forward to this Sunday's FA cup 2nd qualifying match against Leyton Orient Women.
Like all the clubs we've contacted so far this season, the loss of players to higher teams or just plain quitting football seems to make life difficult for everyone.

I offer a ray of sunshine.......
As the girls prepare for the 2nd qualifying round of the women's FA Cup to be played up at Biggleswade in a few hours' time. Here's a YouTube video dedicated to our star keeper Lola Duroyaiye which contains lots of good stuff about youngsters and team development, the 12 minute clip also features a bunch of goals taken from last season and a few highlights of our win in the first round at Brisbane Road a couple of weeks ago where we ran out 4-2 winners against Cheshunt.
Fill ya boots..........
