HALF TIME: Leyton Orient 1:1 Islington Borough
That's the way it stayed to the end, a point apiece.

How many teams go up/down from this league Fisch? Not clear from the table on the site. Good question, one up, two down, at least that's what happened last 2 years. There's a division one (north) and a (south) so the winner of each goes up to the premier division. Quite how they decide who comes down and from which regional league is another question. I think they make it up as they go along. I'll show something on the table. Cheers.

Amateur football?
Playing as we do at tier seven of the FA Women's hierarchy, the question arose recently about who pays for what and how the costs are divided up. Additionally, we've heard recently from the other clubs we talk to that the women's FA cup 'proper' is viewed as their most important event during the season. Frankly, this came as a bit of a surprise so, when asked why, they answered "the money". This required a bit of further investigation.... Find out at lofcwomen.com

FA Cup - 3rd qualifying round...This Sunday, 22nd October, sees the O's ladies playing in the Women's FA cup competition at the 3rd qualifying stage. As a new club to the women's football hierarchy just a couple of years ago, this is the first time Leyton Orient played in this competition, earned by last season's stellar league campaign and consequential promotion. The three qualifying rounds can be viewed as similar to the men's FA Cup qualifying rounds where the EFL teams only join the fray at the first 'proper' round, the top leagues join in later. Having beaten tier 6 teams in the first two rounds (we play at tier seven) we now face a level five team in the shape of Wroxham Ladies It will be a big day for both clubs... Introducing our opponents and a preview of Sunday's big game at Brisbane Road: All at lofcwomen.com

Sunday 22nd OctoberIt's FA Cup day for the women's team and it's all going to happen at Brisbane Road's field of dreams. A 2pm kick-off sees level five club Wroxham (we're level seven so this will be a big ask) arrive to try and get into the next round of the women's FA Cup - that will be the first round 'proper' where many of the higher leagues join the battle to reach Wembley. Today's game is the third (and final) qualifying match, whoever wins gets into the stages where prize money is up for grabs. We'll bring you more info today as we get it, our photo guy LarryO will be on site to get some shots of the action for later. Entrance is free via the main entrance to the Justin Edinburgh stand. Please be encouraged to go along to the game and support the girls on their big day, this could be viewed as the biggest game in the LOFC Women's modern era. We'd love to hear from you if you go there, just whatsapp us on +385913080531 and send us your thoughts and pics. More later at LOFCwomen.com

Final score 6-1 (I think, might have lost track a bit). This was my first orient game at Brisbane Rd in nearly six and a half years, and despite the score line I enjoyed the day immensely. My last game was the pitch invasion game when we went down to NL, so it was always going to be better than that day anyway! Nice to see how things are changing in the area, got to go in the fancy gallery bit for the first time, saw the Laurie Cunningham statue, all very enjoyable. In terms of the actual game, whilst it was clear wroxham were from a level or two up, the score line was a bit unfortunate. Their 2nd and 3rd goals both seemed offside to me. I think conceding from a corner in the 2nd minute really didn’t do the orient girls’ confidence much good. Some good bits of skill here and there from some of the orient players (in particular the number 8 Hannah Jenks looked decent), but the difference to me seemed to be speed of thought and team understanding. Wroxham just seemed to be able to play a quick pass and expect a team mate to be where they were passing to. Orient had to take touch, look up, look for options, then play the pass. I guess that’s the difference between steps 7 and 5. Overall though, I enjoyed myself at least!
