Fine by me. Nothing against him as I think he is a decent player despite what others may say. The trouble for Joe is our style does not suit his playing style, why we married the two together is beyond me, maybe a Ling panic buy which he isn't so good at. A couple of fair points there.

I see all manner of unknown web pages telling me that Joe P may go on loan to Wimbledon. Each of them drop a click-bait headline which is followed by a mass of cookie consents and popups which I no longer want to navigate. If this is how the www is going to be then l guess I'll leave it all behind.

Agreed, Pigott is not the workhorse type CF that Wellens seems to like but I don’t think he ever got an opportunity in what was described as his preferred “ No 10” role which I do find a little odd. Still, hopefully this move ( if it happens) will prove beneficial for both the O’s and Joe as I concur, he is a better player than many give him credit for.

If this happens then the Orient website will confirm. But it’s fun at a time when at face value nothing much is going on. Plenty behind the scenes I’m sure.

Can we kill the "panic buy" narrative around Pigott already? He was signed halfway through the transfer window, not near the end of it.

The “ panic” element seems to have begun about 6 months after we bought him!😆😆👍

The “ panic” element seems to have begun about 6 months after we bought him!😆😆👍 Two scenarios. One a late panic signing, the other a planned, considered signing. The former happens. The main targets drops out and with limited opportunities to fully explore other options he gets signed. The latter is that after extensive research the transfer committee conclude he is the right man for the job. TBH I think the former makes the committee look better than the latter.

I wish him all the best. Seems like he showed a good attitude at the O's despite being pretty much sidelined while he was with us.

He made 36 appearances for the club last season (20 starts), 8th highest for the squad. 12th when looking a minutes played. He had his opportunities but alas as we all know, he just doesn’t fit our style of play.

We still pay him all his wages? Why would we pay 50% of his wages and get 0% of his time? I can understand parent clubs picking up the tab when they loan out players in order to get then experience, like Forde etc. win/win. I wouldn’t be surprised if we pick up a small percentage releasing money to help with incomings. Probably why negotiations take so long. But 50%! I’d keep him.

Normally in non-development loans, the borrowing club look to get a player at a lower salary than he could normally command whilst the lending club look to get the bulk of the of the player's salary off their books. Somewhere there will be a deal to suit both sides.

An excellent penalty taker even when not showing his best form.

Hopefully everyone will benefit from this move which is now seems to be confirmed. Personally, I hope JP does well, it didn’t work out for us but as said elsewhere he’s got ability and some of the derogatory comments from “ fans” were just plain nasty imho.

Wish him all the best if it comes to pass He was happy at wombles b4 and scored plenty. Someone on the other board said he belonged in a donkey sanctuary. Hope he didn't read it just so evil.
