No thanks ! Hasn’t done much recently . When on loan at Wimbledon 2018-2 021 he played 137 games and scored 47 goals , about 1 goal every 3 games. He went back to Ipswich and played 22 games but only 2 goals. They had him out at Portsmouth last season, he played 35 games but only got 4 goals. At his age he is heading for the National League.

I'd stick with our younger player policy

Unlikely. As is us getting a striker with any sort of scoring pedigree. We just don’t have enough players who score often enough in open play. Nothing thus far suggests we have remedied that. I don’t think we will.
Someone like Pigott gets goals, certainly at our level. Hard to judge these days, 22 appearances could me 22 games coming on in the last 10 minutes. I made that mistake with Smith. Didn’t rate his strike rate until I looked up minutes actually played, then it looked quite good.
Age? 29 is hardly past it but definitely no sell on value. But I doubt he will be Brisbane Road bound.

I'd stick with our younger player policy Older players do have a lot to offer and one or two in a team keeps a steady hand when it is needed.

With too much time on my hands I tend to study the comings and goings in League 1. What surprised me is the numbers of older players moving around. Theo Walcott looking like going to Reading. He is 34.
I get what seems to be our policy of getting younger players and perhaps earning a sell on fee after their first year but I do wonder if we are missing out on some of the older, experienced players out there as a result. Can the managers of other teams be so wrong bringing in older players? The Pigott debate a case in point. I doubt we will bring in someone with his record, In fact I doubt we will bring in anyone at all despite ML saying we need two number 9s. Maybe an inexperienced loan.
Next season won’t be a walk in the park, a solid mix of youth an experience will count when the going gets tough. A solid experienced guy at number 9 who has seen it and done it all before has it’s benefits over a youngster who just runs around a lot.
The Gas just signed a 35 year old defender. Another oldie moving to league 1.

We don't need to make money on every player, surely there's wriggle room for a goalscorer.
He should be number 90 if we sign him.

Tbh I’ve not looked at minutes because I don’t believe he will be with us. Personally I’d be happy if he did. Should his style be deemed aligned to ours then the goals would happen. If not then not worth the risk. Im willing to bet Smith and maybe DJ assuming they get games will score providing the style of play suits their game. Jamie Curitan was prolific but with us looked poor. Just didn’t fit. Tough finding the right player. Maybe Agyei. Hope so.
