With RW apparently distancing himself from the club’s activities in the forthcoming transfer window in his post Wycombe interview it would appear to be down to ML and the “ transfer committee “ to deal with any incoming ( and outgoing?) players. With what seems to be a limited budget at his disposal it’s going to be difficult for the DoF to find anyone of quality outside of the loan market/ free agency I suspect. Charlie Kelman still seems to be mooted as a possible arrival as does Charlie Kirk ( formerly of Charlton). As to outgoings , maybe Cooper’s loan spell will not be extended?, or will Moncur and Thompson who rarely seem to feature in Wellens’ starting line ups be made available? Personally, I think activity will be limited given our league position but it’s always an interesting phase as clubs and players jockey for position.👍

I doubt much business will be done. We arent going down and we arent going up. Why blow the dough now? Best to wait till the summer so we can really push on. Im not even sure we will move anyone on either.

Watfordo's comment holds good water, however we do need a wide man and a center forward either and or would be a good addition to what we have right now. These past few games have I believe changed some minds within our board about the need to spend money on what is a second rate window. Save the dough till the summer and get the players we want rather than panic and grab anything that moves, more money in the kitty and less losses to finance.
Ritchie comments say to me, the incoming will be substandard and therefore its nothing to do with me, so don't moan when they are crap.
It's gonna be interesting.

With RW apparently distancing himself from the club’s activities in the forthcoming transfer window in his post Wycombe interview, it would appear to be down to ML and the “ transfer committee “ to deal with any incoming ( and outgoing?) players. In this day and age, we seem to hang on to every bit of news we hear and take it literally to the extreme point. It's also the reason that sometimes I wish the club wouldn't do interviews. Of course, Richie will be involved in any transfer dealings, both incoming and outgoing. He is the manager. I heard the interview and it came across to me that he has submitted a list of players he wants, in positions that he wants. I can imagine he's also handed over a list of players that he wouldn't mind moving on to enable us to get those players in, and now it's over to the board and Martin to deal with it. Richie's job is done up to a certain point at this stage. That's the point of a DoF. Some players will be out of our league, some will be sought after by other clubs too, some will have fees attached and some might not fancy us. Some players might want to leave Orient, some won't. All this will then be fed back to Richie and that's how the committee works. Then Richie will talk to any players that are possible to sign and have the final say, this has been mentioned many times. Thee carpet isn't whipped out from under anybodies feet. It isn't secret squirrel stuff and nor does a committee ride in 10-handed on horseback headed by Marshall Taylor to Notts County's training ground to declare the committee is interested in a player (I randomly picked Notts County, I have no inside knowledge).

As for transfers themselves, I thought we were doing OK and had enough to tide us over through the season.
But long-term injuries to Graham, Drinan, possibly Ruel, leaves us a bit short. Also, if Cooper goes back, then I think we can do something there too.
So I reckon we'll be in for a loanee Centre Back, some type of winger, and I really think we should be looking at a centre-forward with a view to next season.
To sum it all up, happy to keep everything as it is during January, but baring in mind how bad the injuries are we could do a bit of business.
Leave it to Martin and Richie, they know best. It's what they do.

Richie does have the final say. He has said so. Martin has said so. Nigel has said so.
Richie is the manager and no players are bought or sold without his nod.

That's not to say that if Richie wanted to spend half a million on a goalkeeper it wouldn't be vetoed for various reasons.
Likewise if Matt Porter said that we should sign his brother then Richie would put the blockers on it.

Because he's done his bit. It's over to the board and DoF to see what can happen.

I suspect he has the final say about those players offered up to him as available as selected by Ling. This is exactly what Slade said when he went to Charlton, the DoF gives him a list and he chooses. Having the final say is very different from getting who you want. So he has the final say, which could mean choosing the best of a bad bunch or bringing in nobody. Not getting who he really wants. It also means if it goes pear shaped the club can legitimately say the manager chose the players. Semantics.
