With RW apparently distancing himself from the club’s activities in the forthcoming transfer window in his post Wycombe interview, it would appear to be down to ML and the “ transfer committee “ to deal with any incoming ( and outgoing?) players. In this day and age, we seem to hang on to every bit of news we hear and take it literally to the extreme point. It's also the reason that sometimes I wish the club wouldn't do interviews. Of course, Richie will be involved in any transfer dealings, both incoming and outgoing. He is the manager. I heard the interview and it came across to me that he has submitted a list of players he wants, in positions that he wants. I can imagine he's also handed over a list of players that he wouldn't mind moving on to enable us to get those players in, and now it's over to the board and Martin to deal with it. Richie's job is done up to a certain point at this stage. That's the point of a DoF. Some players will be out of our league, some will be sought after by other clubs too, some will have fees attached and some might not fancy us. Some players might want to leave Orient, some won't. All this will then be fed back to Richie and that's how the committee works. Then Richie will talk to any players that are possible to sign and have the final say, this has been mentioned many times. Thee carpet isn't whipped out from under anybodies feet. It isn't secret squirrel stuff and nor does a committee ride in 10-handed on horseback headed by Marshall Taylor to Notts County's training ground to declare the committee is interested in a player (I randomly picked Notts County, I have no inside knowledge). it could also be seen as a challenge to the dof and board to step up the quality of player I want.

As for transfers themselves, I thought we were doing OK and had enough to tide us over through the season. But long-term injuries to Graham, Drinan, possibly Ruel, leaves us a bit short. Also, if Cooper goes back, then I think we can do something there too. So I reckon we'll be in for a loanee Centre Back, some type of winger, and I really think we should be looking at a centre-forward with a view to next season. To sum it all up, happy to keep everything as it is during January, but baring in mind how bad the injuries are we could do a bit of business. Leave it to Martin and Richie, they know best. It's what they do. Cooper came on today,I think that says he's staying.

Good. He's done well for the shirt. The first sending off (Gillingham) was an accident. The second for his thump, well, that's the only way I would have been able to stop Collins. He shouldn't be in this league. I reckon Cooper will learn and get better. What's happened to Turns?

I like cooper and he took a lot of stick on here when he lost form, every player loses form over the course of a season. He’s a good player and we need him.

I think it would be good if there were no changes. Forde, Cooper, Turns, Misouri and Graham are excellent loans. Darren Pratley defies the odds (I wish I could) and carries on but what about next season? I would reckon he's our only doubt.

Thankfully, the recent 10 points in five games or whatever have taken the pressure off, added to which we've now got about 10 days before the next game. The window has only just opened so we've now got plenty of time to size up our options.

The problem still exists with the wrong person having final say as to which players join, Richie should have final say. Apparently RW makes the list then it’s up to the club to see if it’s affordable or not . I think they’ve got it right . If Richie had more of an input do you really believe he would go for Piggot

Apparently Luton are recalling Joe Taylor from Colchester where he has scored 12 in 25 games, and placing him with a league one team. If true is he on our radar?

If Richie had more of an input do you really believe he would go for Piggot If he had free reign he'd have gone for a Premier League or Championship player aged about 26 and scoring 20 goals or more every season regularly. We all would. Someone like Patrick Bamford or Che Adams from Southampton. But it has to be tinged with reality doesn't it. That's why it's a committee. Everyone will approach it from a different angle. Playing wise, financial, development, future resale, all that stuff. But ultimately Richie has the final say and players are not forced on or taken from him without his say so. Equivalent of my wife telling me I'm allowed to bring in a new car to replace our 10 year old Citroen Picasso for the school run. And me picking out a Lamborghini. It's way too expensive, out of our league, can't fit two kids in and rubbish at loading up shopping from Tesco.

Twenty is plenty on the roads in Southwark! I think the average mph for a journey is about 6mph!
I get places quicker on my bike!

I do not intend for this comment to be a downer. have to wonder what is going to happen with Moncur. I like him, he has real style when he’s playing well, but I bet he was expensive to sign and he is not as productive as he has been for a while now. Would he go out on loan, or would another team buy his contract?

Do not bring in anyone this window. We are well capable of keeping our current league position. Limited new players will not get us to play off's.Go for it in the summer.

Not a transfer but before Xmas Charlton released a winger called Charlie Kirk (26) who they had signed 2 years previously from Crewe for £500k. Charlie Kirk is now a free agent having played 260+ games. Could he be the winger we are looking for? He ticks all the boxes. Good age to still develop, plenty of experience, free transfer, winger, 6'1", great pedigree having come through the Crewe academy. Just seems to have fallen out of favour lately. www.charltonafc.com/news/charlie-kirk-departs-mutual-consenten.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Kirk_(footballer)
