Such situations create nothing but division and argument. Nothing constructive comes from these sort of things. Instead of talk of a good win, some really good goals and our pushing on with an outside chance of playoffs talk everywhere is overshadowed by comments on this. Sides are being taken, for or against RW, for or against Ling, praise and criticism of the board. Even a question suggested for the NT podcast to cover this. I hope it is not asked. The evidence of how divisive these types of things are, are out there. Frustrating. Unnecessary. Evidence of poor management is plentiful. And surprising given this aspect of our club is generally very good. It is sad, totally unnecessary and as I said divisive. Again, he was asked about the ins and outs and answered honestly. That's fine. Your position only makes sense if he's pushing the issue himself. I agree that I'd rather it wasn't brought up to Nigel on the pod, but the problem there is fans making a bigger deal out of it than it is. In which case, you surely need to accept some responsibility for that yourself. Me and many others.

It's not to say how great we are doing or buy some more pies it's due to the fans reactions on this board and the dark side and whilst I don't do social media I'm sure the same is happening there. Fair point, but also not far off the point I was making. The boss now needs to placate the fans who are making a big fuss over nothing.

...One thing seems to have passed everyone by and Nigel said it, next season the TV money in the championship jumps x5 so there is a significant financial uplift... Come on mate, gimme some credit 😁 Champ TV money is 7-8 mill. the new deal starts next season and the split will be as follows:- Championship 70%, League One 18% and League Two 12%. The new deal is £300 million on top of the existing deal value and that £300 million will be split as follows:- Championship 80%, League One 12%, League Two 8% ratio Big increase for the Champ clubs.

How would it be miserable? Watching your team play at the highest it has in about 40 years, fighting against the odds to earn that right to be there. Give me that any day over the national league, league 2 or league 1. Set your sights higher, aim for the stars and if you fail it won't because you didn't try. The notion of watching my team lose every weekend is pretty miserable to me, no matter how much live laugh love stuff you wanna tack onto it. Still, in the long run it could be a good thing. The problem comes from slinging more money than you can afford at trying to make the prem and failing. And estaing, you'll be happy to hear that I was speaking only for myself. I do not subscribe to throwing money away and putting this club at risk, been there and I didn't like it one bit. We build this team up like the clubs plan is over 3 years to hopefully put us in a position to challenge the top of this league to get us in the championship. I've seen every team this season and we really are not far away from challenging now, we are a lot closer than maybe the club thought we would be at this point. Let's enjoy where we are and keep moving forwards cos that's how winning is done.

It's not to say how great we are doing or buy some more pies it's due to the fans reactions on this board and the dark side and whilst I don't do social media I'm sure the same is happening there. He is standing up and being counted, it’s what good leaders do, they don't hide they show leadership. We have a great leadership team at this club, he is clearly showing that tonight instead of saying "no comment" I trust the podcast show why I've said this is where they excel and I'm sure they will ask the difficult questions, after all Nigel wrote a book about push back and challenging the leadership of a business, he demonstrating that right now. Interesting comment Thor. Hadn’t really considered it. As to the reaction, it’s modest on this forum. The dark side now up to 7 pages but I’ve decided not to delve too deep over there, nor comment. The Facebook Orient supporters group, read but don’t comment on, has also picked this up. Don’t do X so no idea there. A totally unnecessary situation. And one that has generated a lot of very negative and wholly unfair comments. Divisive. Read his book. Good read. (His push back comments really aimed at the USA workplace I feel). And as a leader I admire his judgement. If he feels it needs resolving publicly who am I to disagree. Equally should he deal with it in a private way, then of course that’s fine too. His experience in these matters is I’m sure significant. It’s just a shame there is something to deal with. Important to not let things like this fester. And I’m sure he won’t. He will play it down and rightly so. Definitely no fuel on the fire. And move on. Good point.

If you need the ISBN number I’m sure I’ve still got the book on mine.

NT covered this as you would expect. Tactfully and skilfully. Everyone at times thinks back to what they said and wished they hadn’t. This was one of those times.
I’m sure lessons have been learnt. We move on.

Eventually RW will go. He will get a better offer or we will fire him. Its a simple as that. There were fans, including some on this board, that genuinely questioned him as our manager after our start to this season. Let that sink in…..Enjoy him while he is here. And stop f’ing moaning.
