The way we're going we'll be playing a solar panel in goal ! Nah, we don’t work at the speed of light. Though may get enough power to heat the coffee pot. Anyway we have a keeper, Howes, on contract so got cover already. After a year with us he should be ready.

He was a good player, and has proven himself since he left us. Can't argue with that. On the negative side he's 34 and we've already got one oldy I'd rather we pick up someone mid twenties who can play.

TBH I don’t give a stuff about who Evens has signed, only interested in who is coming to the O’s Doubt any of us are too bothered about other sides, but I personally find it interesting to see what our rivals are doing as it most certainly will affect us in the coming season. What he did at Stevenage put them above us last season and what he is doing at Rotherham is likely to do the same. Dont want too many of our rivals being aggressive in the market, going to be a tough enough season as it is. Im also fascinated to see how other teams approach the Window compared to our approach. Just a bit of fun during a period where not much is happening at Brisbane Road.

We finished 6 points behind Stevenage last season and we all know about our injury situation throughout the year. Evans is a manager with a track record of success, knows the sort of players he wants to play his style, but so does Richie. If we get the players we want then I expect us to challenge for a top 6 spot, and whether Evans can pull the rabbit out of the hat with so many changes to his squad is for me questionable. Rotherham lost 29 times last season and I think Evans will have a tough time changing things back to a winning mentality. If he does it, then bringing in the experienced pros he has will I am sure be a big contribution to that, but I don't see Rotherham finishing with more points than us this season.

Is it safe to assume that Rotherham have paid over the odds in order to get these players to sign up so early?

Would we like Orient to pay over the odds just to get some in.

Is it safe to assume that Rotherham have paid over the odds in order to get these players to sign up so early? Going by Steve Evans passed managerial tactics he will probably recoup some of that monetary outlay in swingeing player fines for misdemeanors.😪

Would we like Orient to pay over the odds just to get some in. Fair point but just what are “ the odds”? You could argue that as the transfer window rolls on and players find themselves potentially without a contract then they may be prepared to accept a “ lower” offer in order to get some security of employment. Equally, a counter argument would be that as the window progresses and club’s find their first or second choices are snapped up by others a sense of desperation creeps in and they will be under pressure to offer more money to ( possibly) inferior players in order to supplement their squad. I think it’s fair to say that whilst it’s quite right that the O’s carefully consider their budget before spending it, it’s also advantageous to get your transfer business done as early as it’s feasible to do so.👍

Is it safe to assume that Rotherham have paid over the odds in order to get these players to sign up so early? Not safe to assume that. He generally is going for the older more experienced players and they will know their worth in league 1. I’m sure they are getting a decent whack but not too sure that means over the odds. But maybe over what we can afford. Think they got £1m recently selling a player and of course their crowds are decent enough, let’s say a couple of thousand more than us. Thats an extra £20k plus on match day. Thats 3 players on £5k at least. Fag packet calculation. Small crowd increases add significantly to finances. Straight to the bottom line once expenses covered. In that area we are screwed.
