Don't get me wrong the quality of loan signings over the last few years has been decent and long may it continue.
El-Miz Kelman Forde Brynn Cooper Etc
But it's not the same as a proper signing is it?
I hope we actually sign a goalkeeper and not loan one.

Yup we need a good keeper that is for sure, especially if we continue with the playing out from the back as is the way of most teams now. We need to raise the decibel level at home as well, as the away support will be bigger and noisier.Quite a sound when we do get going.

Is anyone thinking that Howes will be the No.1?

Is anyone thinking that Howes will be the No.1? We have a very good goal keeper coaching team at the club and if they think Howes is the No1 who am I to disagree ,they know better .

Royce was a superb keeper and I'm sure he's a Good coach too. Not questioning that. My thoughts were if we utilise the existing squad we can use the cash saved elsewhere in the squad. Hence my question does anyone else see Howes being first choice?

Is anyone thinking that Howes will be the No.1? Not ignoring the possibility. The Ling works in mysterious ways.

I saw a League One club is interested in Radek Vitek a Man Utd goalkeeper, maybe Wellens is cashing in on his United links?

If we sign loan players on a years contract then it is only one year less than the contracts given when we sign a player. It also gives us the advantage that if it doesn’t work out we can send them back after a year, I am sure plenty on here would have preferred we had got piggott on loan.

I can only assume we have stuff done or 90% done behind closed doors, and they've just not announced yet. Almost all other teams have signed a fair few already.
Stockport signed Crawley's 6ft 8 keeper.
Burton signed Orsi from them.
It does not look good right now, but maybe in a week or two, it will.

I think we perhaps need to look for talented youngsters, trust our judgement, then put them on a 3 year deal. We get 2 Years from them, continuity in the squad and perhaps a sell-on fee. one year doesn’t help continuity and two reduces sell on value. Talented players like Galbraith and Agyei walk free at the end of the season. As do Graham, Kelman, Perkins. And Pigott. Come next season as it stands we will be looking for a whole new forward line. And not make a penny. Loans are useful but you don’t build your future around them.

We return to preseason today and we've not signed a permanent member to the team / squad. I thought we had learnt our lesson after the January debacle yet seem to be making the same slow progress. We have to hit the ground running this season as like other borders have said this is one hard division this year.

It’s debatable whether we have even strengthened during the window thus far. Ruel Gone, Kelman in first team squad wise. Plus Perkins of course. Back to training today, friendlies starting next week. We are just not ready. So either we see lots of activity shortly or we stumble into another season Ill prepared, playing catch up. We live in hope. Right now that’s all we have.

Well doh, Travis promised a lot of transfer activity “in the next two or three weeks” when speaking at the AGM back on 14 June so on that basis the next few days will see your hopes fulfilled ( or dashed as the case may be!) .🤞👍☕️☕️

Lots of transfer activity doesn't necessarily mean lots of new signings.

Unfortunately over promising and under delivering is not a good combination.
