I find it very hard to get enthused by the new season, in fact, I regret buying the season ticket

Let's forget about the two loans signing for a moment,we were always going to make loan signing, it's actually good we got these loans in so early.
What my biggest issue is that we would have identified players coming out of contract (Bakinson, Payne, ETC) and started this process well before the season ended, so what's gone so wrong because it still doesn't sound like anything is even close?
I get there are big clubs in League One but that hasn't stopped smaller clubs than us making big signings,Kemp at Stevenage and Lavery at Cambridge come to mind.
Lots of people saying there's no reason to panic but the better free agents have already been snapped up by teams lower than us.
I'm glad we have a decent manager because otherwise I would be extremely worried.

When you read about the Mickey Mouse teams around us making decent signings and we celebrate signing Polly Perkins on loan as if we've won the Lottery, even you guys must see that something is drastically wrong ?

Clubs in our sort of area are making some decent signings which sort of knocks the “waiting for what’s left after the big boys take their pick” stuff. I can only assume that either those available are not to our liking, other clubs are better/quicker at getting deals done or we believe that by waiting then even better options will be available and those other clubs will rue jumping in too early. Time will tell.

Also had a better MPG ratio than Ruel.

The squad we've got is pretty good. All those players who were injured most of last season are back. The only decent miss is el Miz. We sign a keeper and we're good to go. As always, I agree with kbola.

As always, I agree with kbola. If RW says he wants 4/6 players, that’s after the 2 loans, that’s good enough for me. I make him spot on. We need depth. The only strong area are the 4 at CB

A goal every 290 mins at this level. And always injured you say? Not sold, sorry.

I realised with great frustration I couldn't pay for my crustacean.

Nothing has gone 'wrong' with our transfer window so far.
Yes we identify players, but that doesn't mean we can sign them. Maybe 10 or 20 other clubs have identified them too. And that's because they're good players.
And because they're good players, they'll get good offers, and because they get offers the players will weigh it all up and ultimately make the decision what is right for them. Be it money, location, ethos, trajectory, management style, etc.
As fans we also have to realise where Orient are in the pecking order too.
If you break the league down into 4 sections of 6 teams, we're probably in the 3rd section in terms size, prestige, and likely budget too.
When the top half of the league have done their business we'll be there to attract what is left.
And then the rest of league one after us, then league two.

Now I'm not saying we're not paying market rate or that Nigel and the board have to put in more at all. I believe it is more that other clubs are being reckless rather than us not being sensible. Long may this continue. I like where we are in the scheme of things.
But what we need to trade on, and it's been mentioned plenty of times before l, and I think we're doing a fantastic job of it, is the facts that:
Generally speaking our signings get better each year
We have a really good coach and coaching team
We have a stable board
You get paid when you expect to be paid and what you expect to be paid
We're on an upwards trajectory
Players have a career path if they fit the ethos
We're a family club. A collective club.
We have turned players careers around (El-Miz wasn't up to much at Accrington), Ruel, Hector, Theo, Smyth
Our coaches are valued, bright, and also have a career path
We're in a fantastic location in London (despite what the naysayers say about London in general and Leyton) to attract players and fans
