Now I'm not saying we're not paying market rate or that Nigel and the board have to put in more at all. I believe it is more that other clubs are being reckless rather than us not being sensible. Long may this continue. I like where we are in the scheme of things. But what we need to trade on, and it's been mentioned plenty of times before l, and I think we're doing a fantastic job of it, is the facts that: Generally speaking our signings get better each year We have a really good coach and coaching team We have a stable board You get paid when you expect to be paid and what you expect to be paid We're on an upwards trajectory Players have a career path if they fit the ethos We're a family club. A collective club. We have turned players careers around (El-Miz wasn't up to much at Accrington), Ruel, Hector, Theo, Smyth Our coaches are valued, bright, and also have a career path We're in a fantastic location in London (despite what the naysayers say about London in general and Leyton) to attract players and fans And if any of this isn't attractive to you as a player. Then that is fine. It's a very short career and you may be coming to the end of your career, you couldn't care a less about being at a family club, you can up sticks and go to Birmingham at the drop of a hat and pick up a fortune. That's great too. You might be a hard as nails centre back that is specialist at hoofball. Don't join us, join Steve Evans. Could be a young player going out on a loan, do you really want to be at a club who has just lost in the playoffs and you have to learn your trade in front of 30,000 people every week who will jeer you when you miss a sitter because the expectations are through the roof. It's a strange division we're in. I just hope the players who we sign, have done their diligence on us and realise what we are and what we stand for.

Nice comments MungO.As I am now old I have a better relationship with the club as time goes by and what the club has given me through some truly dreadful times in my life. One of the reasons I get tetchy with those that are unfair with their comments.More me than them I suppose.

We know what we are and we must not loose sight of that, until a multi billionaire gets involved that is what we will be.I kinda like where we are now and what ambitions we have. If you can dream and not make dreams your master.

Nothing has gone 'wrong' with our transfer window so far. Yes we identify players, but that doesn't mean we can sign them. Maybe 10 or 20 other clubs have identified them too. And that's because they're good players. And because they're good players, they'll get good offers, and because they get offers the players will weigh it all up and ultimately make the decision what is right for them. Be it money, location, ethos, trajectory, management style, etc. As fans we also have to realise where Orient are in the pecking order too. If you break the league down into 4 sections of 6 teams, we're probably in the 3rd section in terms size, prestige, and likely budget too. When the top half of the league have done their business we'll be there to attract what is left. And then the rest of league one after us, then league two.

Players will come in. We know that. Maybe even a couple of decent ones, Idris hopefully. No panicking needed, it will happen. But once again I cannot reconcile the rhetoric coming from the club and the actions. We hear lots but the reality thus far is us weakening not strengthening the squad and at a time when preseason games are just about to start and the management team already working with the players in preparation for a tough season to come.
As each day passes the chances of the whole squad, whoever that ends up being, having a decent preseason gets worse.
Behind the scenes everything hopefully is under control and shortly we will be amazed and delighted with the summers transfer business. Else SNAFU and that donβt bare thinking about. So stying positive is the thing. πππ

Got to happen, we are woefully weak when looking at a whole tough season, or even getting to January in decent shape, sweating over every tough tackle or illness in the camp. I just refuse to believe the club have not got things under control. We would not be building a stronger management team for the next 3 years if we are screwing up the playing side. That just makes no sense at all. So we will recruit, soon, decent quality. Not βifβ;we get good players in, but βwhenβ. And we are usually slow out of the blocks so thatβs normal.
