Intriguing crossroads for him this season.orient clearly won't offer him a new deal. So its in his best interests to get fit and on form to get attention elsewhere. Leagues lower than us won't pay his current wages.or its a job outside football worse case

Leagues lower than us won't pay his current wages.or its a job outside football worse case If he does go from Os, pretty sure some club will take him on at lower wages than what I guess he gets at the moment. Other than him getting a job involved with the Church, I don't suppose he has a trade or other skills to fall back to help him getting a job outside of playing football.

Even if GM gets “ fit and on form” my sense is that his opportunities at the club will now be restricted. Once RW has made up his mind that your face doesn’t fit there doesn’t seem to be a way back.

I am sure RW was faced with inflexible managers when he was playing. If RW is as intelligent as NT has remarked in more than one occasion- RW will be flexible in his attitude that is the true mark of intelligence. However there may be tactical reasons why GM skillset is not compatible. That would be a shame because if you go back to when we were promoted RW clearly said in one interview that GM would do better in league 1.

Why would a job outside football be the worst case scenario? And why do we assume the only other thing he could do is work for the church? Is that where all Christians work?
Every footballer has to start looking for another job at some point in their 30s. I see no reason why he'd be worse off than most. The geezer's been making 100-220k a year for about a decade. He'll be fine.

Very little to do with RW being “ inflexible” and more about the standards he sets not being met.

GM's had ten years of plenty. That artical from a Hull newspaper posted here recently mentioned he wasn't angry not getting in their team. Why should he,he's getting his money anyway. Just hope George has invested some..like Gregg's Plc

Sorry, but I don’t quite get the point you are trying to make.

Sorry, but I don’t quite get the point you are trying to make. I was initially commenting on the person that made the original quote I then re phrased my comment to cover your point What I am trying to say is ; If a manager can demonstrate flexibility of their intelligence by considering reversing their original decision it would demonstrate an enhanced management abilty. Obviously in this case GM has to meet the managers criteria for selection. That will include a range of attributes and team tactics. It would be a shame based on RW previous comments on GM ability if selection was not achieved even if he met now the managers attributes to gain selection but was then not selected.

Thanks. I see what you are getting at now. I guess a lot comes down to interpretation of RW’s actions, on which there appears to be two schools of thought. (1) He is decisive and makes conclusive decisions both quickly and effectively or (2) He can be stubborn and having made a decision he is unwilling to compromise or make change. Take your pick as Michael Miles used to say!😀👍

Completely up to moncur as to how his future unfolds.Towards the end of last season away against barnsley he wax excellent and would be a starter in the team he was dynamic and fit and made our goal by destroying barnsley. However i feel we may have seen the last of him hope I'm wrong though

If so we have a really talented player. We need him, our squad is not that deep that we can afford passengers. RW is a good motivator.

Monica's dad was a shunter at Ruislip depot (Central line) in the 60s & 70s. He took a fair amount of ribbing from the crew about the Hughie Green thing ... "I mean that most sincerely folks, I really do".
