Charlton deserved the victory but are nothing special.I never felt we were going to hold on though can't keep inviting pressure away from home.On the plus side much much better from Hemming and we kept battling. This is another really tough start for us and next week will be even harder. These are not the games that will define our season as the likes of Bolton Charlton and Birmingham have three or four times the budget we have

On the bright side Hemming had a decent game and will do his confidence some good. And the team worked hard. But a massive lack of quality on show. Cant complain about the defeat. Especially in the subs positions..

There was next to nothing between the two sides in the first half but we visibly wilted in the last half hour and were unable to get anyone to hold the ball up front to release the pressure. I thought Brown & Happe were both very good and Clare and James did well. Hemming didn’t have a lot to do but looked a lot better today than in the previous two games. Tough week ahead for Wellens already , what with the injuries and the prospect of Brum looming next Saturday!

Also their subs made an impact, ours didn’t 2nd league game in succession the subs comment holds true. With a couple of players out it makes a difference. But we are thin in terms of quality. Hopefully other teams we play will have the same issue. Still 44 games to go.

No way am I blaming the ref for the defeat but…He was a bit of a Homer I thought he gave both teams a fair crack. Couple of our bookings were harsh, Sweeney and James. But us losing was down to us. After a decent first half we invited pressure in the second. Passing quality poor, caught in possession and nothing in midfield. We move on. The only way is up, especially being bottom of the table.

All the above plus the horrendous defending for their winner(and it was horrendous)

I thought we were the better side in the first half as were they in the second. Yet again we restricted the opposition to very few chances yet come away with nothing. Agyei was being pulled all over the place in the first half but given nothing. The keeper did nothing wrong , and that’s about it. For me brown was our man of the match. I guess another defeat is on the cards against a team that has just spent £22 million, so we are replicating last seasons start.

Hardly any balls going forward to our forwards..Kelman was making his own chances..I know it’s early but I don’t think things aren’t looking good at the moment ..As you said,DA being pulled all over the place..With that happening we had no decent forward play..Very poor second half after a fairly decent first half(even if we didn’t really hurt Bolton)..Our subs offered zilch

I’d agree that our subs overall weakened the team DJ & Warrington did nothing but then Oberio and O’ Neil were pretty anonymous too. Certainly Beckles and Sweeney replacing Cooper and James was a downgrade. As we all know though , we will find it hard to match the depth that teams like Charlton can offer.

The moment Beccles came on the whole game changed Charlton were onto him straight away and once again he always throws a wobbly, so then got to the keeper who hasn't speeded up enough yet.

I know Agyei did well as a 9 when he played last season but I can't help but think him in the middle and Kelman off the wing is the wrong way round. Just me?
